Parvo is in full force!!

“Parvovirus is a highly contagious often deadly virus that is spread between dogs through contact with infected dogs or contaminated objects.” Dogs who have the virus but not showing symptoms are also able to spread parvo. Parvo is known to attack the stomach and intestines. Young puppies are the most suspectible to the virus due to the underdeveloped immune system. The best chance of survival is a fully vaccinated puppy, and not allowing them to socialize until they are fully vaccinated. Early detection is also VERY important! If your puppy shows signs of lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, fever, weakness and depression. They do not need to show all of these signs! Seek treatment immediately if you think your pet has any of these signs. A fully vaccinated puppy is a safer puppy!!
