🌩️🐾 Monsoon season has officially arrived in Tucson! While the rain may bring a break from the heat, it also brings a few extra hazards for our four-legged family members.

From flash floods and storm anxiety to increased wildlife activity, a little preparation can go a long way in keeping your pets safe this season. Be sure to keep ID tags and microchip information up to date, avoid standing water, and bring pets indoors during severe weather.

🚨 IMPORTANT TRAVEL UPDATE FOR PET OWNERS 🚨

Please check with USDA/APHIS guidance regarding any travel at this time as the guidelines may continue to change.

While pet dogs may continue to travel to Mexico under previously established procedures, all dogs returning to the United States from Mexico must meet APHIS screwworm freedom certification requirements before re-entering the U.S.

⚠️ At this time, our clinic is unable to provide health certificates or the required screwworm freedom certification documentation needed for dogs returning from Mexico to the United States.

If you're planning to travel with your pet, please contact USDA/APHIS before making arrangements so you understand the current requirements and can plan accordingly.

As always, if you notice unusual wounds, maggots, or have concerns about your pet's health, please give us a call right away. We're here to help keep your pets safe and healthy. 🐾💙
