🏈 Happy 1st Weekend of College Football Season! 🏈

Just a reminder while you're cheering on your favorite team, make sure your four-legged friends stay safe too. Football season often means game-day snacks, parties, cookouts, and lots of excitement -- all of which can create some unexpected hazards for pets. Keep these tips in mind:
🍗 Skip the table scraps: Fatty foods and rich snacks can cause stomach upset and even pancreatitis.
🦴 Properly dispose of bones: Cooked bones can splinter and cause serious gastrointestinal injuries or obstruction.
🍫 Watch the snack table: Chocolate, grapes/raisins, onions, garlic, and xylitol-containing foods can be dangerous for pets. 🍺 Keep alcoholic drinks out of reach: Even small amounts can be harmful to pets.
🚪 Watch the door: With friends coming in and out for the game, make sure your pet can't sneak outside or become overwhelmed by the excitement.
🎉 Give them a game-day safe space: A quiet room, crate, or cozy spot away from the crowd can help pets who aren't big fans of the football party.

Let’s make this football season a touchdown for everyone — including our furry fans! 🏈🐶🐱

🖤 Happy National Black Cat Appreciation Day! 🐈‍⬛

Today we're celebrating the beauty, charm, and uniqueness of black cats!

Despite old myths and superstitions, black cats are just as loving, playful, and affectionate as cats of any other color. In fact, in many cultures around the world, they're considered symbols of good luck, prosperity, and protection! ✨

Unfortunately, black cats are often overlooked in shelters simply because of their coat color. Today is a great reminder that every cat deserves a loving home—and a chance to steal our hearts!

🐾 If you're lucky enough to share your home with a black cat, we'd love to see them! Share a photo in the comments and help us celebrate these amazing felines today. 🖤

✏️ Happy Back-to-School Month! 🍎

As the school year begins, calendars fill up quickly with classes, sports, homework, and busy schedules. In the middle of all the excitement, it's easy for routine pet care to slip through the cracks—and that's completely understandable.

Of course, no back-to-school season is complete without a furry study buddy who insists on "helping"... whether that's sitting on your laptop, stealing your study spot, or supervising every assignment! 🐶🐱💙

If your furry friend is due for a wellness exam, vaccinations, or preventive care, now is a great time to get it on the calendar. A little planning today can help keep them healthy all year long!

🐾 Here's to a happy, healthy school year for the whole family—pets included!

Today we're celebrating the curious, independent, and endlessly entertaining companions who make our lives just a little brighter. Cats may be known for their independence, but they still rely on us to help them live long, healthy lives.

🐾 Schedule routine wellness exams
🐾 Keep up with vaccinations and parasite prevention
🐾 Provide enrichment through toys, scratching posts, and playtime

Happy National Assistance Dog Day! 🐾

Today we're celebrating the remarkable dogs whose loyalty, intelligence, and dedication help change lives every day.

Whether they're guiding, alerting, assisting with mobility, or providing other life-saving support, these incredible dogs remind us just how special the human-animal bond truly is.

Today, we thank these incredible dogs—and the trainers, handlers, and organizations who make their life-changing work possible. 🐾

💙 Know an assistance dog? We'd love to celebrate them with you! Share a photo or tell us about the amazing dog who has made a difference in your life.

"Is my cat sleeping too much?" 💤

If it feels like your cat spends most of the day snoozing... they're probably right on schedule! Healthy adult cats typically sleep 12–16 hours a day, while kittens and senior cats may sleep even longer.

💙 While lots of sleep is normal, it's worth giving us a call if your cat:
🐾 Suddenly starts sleeping much more than usual
🐾 Seems difficult to wake
🐾 Has a decreased appetite
🐾 Stops grooming
🐾 Seems weak or lethargic when awake

Every cat has their own routine, so if something feels "off," trust your instincts—we're always happy to help!

📞 Give us a call if you have any concerns about your furry friend's health.
