The super Vet of the day today is Dr. Schmidt! Dr. Schmidt is one of our Doctors who does it all! On top of seeing your every day patients, he also see exotics like snakes and lizards. Dr. Schmidt is also one of our two Doctors who preforms Laparoscopic procedures, where the procedure is done internally using a camera and small instruments through small incisions. If Dr. Schmidt isn't at work you can find him playing beach volleyball, adopting older dachshunds or trying a new drink on a plane! We appreciate Dr. Schmidt and all of the knowledge he brings to Park West Veterinary!

This week we are celebrating our Doctors with Doctor Appreciation Week! Each day we will spotlight one of our wonderful Veterinarians who contributes to a large reason of who we are today. Starting with Dr. Brogie- Dr. Brogie previously was a Veterinarian in the military and is who you will see taking care of most of our working breeds that come in for appointments! When Dr. Brogie is not at work you will most likely find her on the pickle ball court or training her new German Shepherd, Riggins . If you were ever wanting to play ice hockey with Dr. Brogie- watch out! She played ice hockey in high school and got a 4 minute major penalty during a game. We love Dr. Brogie and appreciate her every day!

How exited are we to get to celebrate Lily’s TWO YEAR anniversary! Lily is our Lead Kennel Technician at STAY! At Park West Vet, a name you may be familiar with whenever you board your pet(s) here. We are so lucky to have someone like Lily who cares for all of our STAY! kids as if they were her own pets and advocates for them to have the most comfortable and successful boarding experience possible. Fun fact about Lily is she previously worked at STAY! At Park West Vet before moving, lucky for us, she missed being here so much that she came back😉
We love to see Lily grow in her role and the care she gives all Patients, we hope for 100 more years to come!

What a special day, 6 years of Heather! You may be most familiar with Heather up front as a CCC, then as Director of Client Services and now our Hospitals Manager! Heather has filled many roles and still does due to her positivity, quick critical thinking skills and her ability to relate and serve our Clients with compassion. Heather has become a backbone at Park west Veterinary and we wouldn’t want to go a day without her willingness to help, funny sense of humor and unique midwestern traits for one minute! Today is FOUR years of Makenna being a part of the Park West Veterinary Family! Makenna is easily described as a ray of positivity who is always willing to help and has a need to learn. Makenna started here as a Kennel Technician and is now in school to be a LVT. You have probably seen Makenna bouncing all around the hospital laughing, chatting with the team and Clients or working hard for our furry patients. Makenna is such a joy to work with and we hope for many many more years of her! Make sure to tell her Happy FOUR years Makenna if you see her today!
