Summer Heat Advisory is in effect for Charleston!
That means it is too humid for dogs to be outside for extended periods of time, that includes being at the beach or in cars unattended. They are more susceptible to heat stroke at these temps, brachycephalic breeds are at greater risk. Signs to look for include elevated breathing rates, dry or sticky gums, abnormal gum color, lethargic or disoriented, seizures. “The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking.” Steve Jobs With an undergraduate degree and two Masters degrees, I went back to school in my mid-30’s to redo prerequisite classes and apply to Veterinary School which I knew was my true calling. With two toddlers (and one on the way), my family picked up and moved from New York City to St. Kitts so I could follow my dream. I received my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the age of 40. My kids grew up watching me going to classes, studying, and surviving clinics, they understand how hard I worked and what we sacrificed. And most important, they know that it’s never too late to pursue your dreams!
