With scorpions we proceed with caution when handling. To get the weight of this scorpion we used tweezers.

This gecko was under sedation as we performed this procedure. And he recovered well! No more sugar skulls for this gecko.

Crop Impaction! 🐓⚠️

This 8 month old chicken presented for a severe “sour crop.” The crop was distended, and the patient had been regurgitating fluid. A hard mass was felt in her crop. Unfortunately, this was not going to be able to pass on its own, and surgical removal was elected. Once we got all of those seeds out, the patient did very well!

The patient was sent home with a pain medication and antibiotic as she heals. The owner was instructed to supplement her dietary fiber and increase greens to hopefully prevent future impaction.
