🎃 TIPS TO KEEP PETS SAFE THIS HALLOWEEN 🧙‍♀️🧟‍♀️

Behind all the fun, Halloween candy and wrappers pose a danger to our furry friends.

👻 QUICK PET SAFETY STEPS:
• Keep candy bowls high up and behind closed doors.
• Throw wrappers directly into a secure, covered trash bin.
• Check your kids' rooms for dropped treats after trick-or-treating.
• Treat your pups and kitties to safe, pet-approved snacks instead! 😸🐶

This past week was VET TECH APPRECIATION WEEK!!!! While we hope our staff felt loved this week, we want them (and you) to know just how much they mean to us EVERY WEEK!

It’s truly an honor and blessing to be trusted with the furry friends who grace your homes. We don’t take lightly that privilege and responsibility. We need you to know how CRUCIAL these individuals are to EVERYTHING we do! We’d be lost without them. They work hard! They are compassionate, respectful, loyal, smart, capable, focused, dependable, kind and brave. They are understanding and patient with our shortcomings. (Case in point this post being late!)

Over the years many of them have grown to feel like family as much as staff. If you stick around long enough you may hear them call us “Mom and Dad”! 😆 (Does this make us feel old? Nah- the gray hair does that all by itself. The endearment makes us smile and it speaks of a bond built over years.🩵) They’ve helped us grow a business and supported us as we’ve grown our family. 🫶🏼 We’ve lived life together. We’ve shared laughter, tears, meals, hard days, stories- so many stories!

Has it always looked perfect? Nope. But here’s the thing, real family isn’t perfect. But what we feel for them is real. Love. Gratitude. Trust. Fondness. Friendship.

So here’s to you CAH fam! YOU ARE EVERYTHING. We love you and appreciate you more than you know!
-Drs. Jake and Emily

Will you join us in helping our staff feel the love in the comments?! Better yet- if you have a snippet or story of how you’ve been on the receiving end of their kindness, please share!

👻🍬 No Boo-hoos here, just BOO baskets and lots of gratitude! 🍬👻

Thank you to one of our sweet clients for spoiling our Congress crew with a basket filled with candy, energy drinks and Bordens Ice Cream Shop gift cards!! 👻🍦🍨

We are so grateful for clients who make our days a little sweeter 🤍

They can’t tell us when something doesn’t feel quite right, so sometimes the best way to care for our pets is to look a little deeper. 🤍

Throughout October, we are offering special pricing on wellness bloodwork, urinalysis, and diagnostic imaging for our canine and feline patients.

Routine wellness testing can help us identify changes that may not be visible at home and gives us more information to help keep your pet healthy for years to come 😸🐶

We know there’s nothing humorous about a broken humerus but we can’t help but giggle that Laura’s kitten always looks like she wants to ask the teacher a question.😆 It always seems to be our own pets that get themselves into the most trouble, but Mae Mei is adjusting to her new splint and on her way to a quick recovery!❤️‍🩹

Let’s have some fun!!🤪

Without telling us, share your favorite childhood movie/cartoon animal with a GIF in the comments! Our staff will share their’s as well!!💖🐾

It’s National Kitten Day and we are “feline” fine this Friday!😻

Maybe we’re a little biased, but there aren’t many things as cute and fun as a kitten! We’d love it if you shared a picture or two of your tiny feline friends in the comments!

Don’t have a kitten right now? Don’t fret, if you have a picture of your cat as a baby we want to see them too!🥰

*Enjoy these pics of Laura’s newest babies!*

Summer is here and temperatures are rising!☀️ That can only mean one thing, heat stroke season is upon us!🥵

Heat stroke can be very scary and ultimately, deadly. Here are some ways you can prevent heat stroke from happening.

1. Limit outdoor time to earlier mornings and later evenings
2. Never leave your pet in a parked vehicle
3. Avoid midday heat
4. Skip vigorous play/heavy runs on extremely hot and humid days
5. Keep flat faced breeds indoors as much as possible

If you ever believe your pet is experiencing signs of heat stroke contact your veterinarian or emergency vet as soon as possible!
