When our staff arrived at work this evening a tapped box was found at the back door containing a very sick flying squirrel wrapped in a paper towel. It's cold outside especially for such a tiny animal 🥺

We have no information on this sweet baby, including age, medical history, current diet or when / how it became sick.

If you left this animal at our door or know who did please call our clinic and give us any information you can provide. Obviously video footage will be pulled but all we want is to try and help this animal and a little history goes a long way.

It is with profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of K-9 Fritz of the Lafayette Police Department due to a sudden medical issue.

End of Watch: September 9, 2025

Fritz was more than just a K-9 — he was a loyal partner, protector, and beloved member of the law enforcement community. His dedication, courage, and unwavering service to the citizens of Lafayette will never be forgotten.

A memorial service to honor K-9 Fritz will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Pet Passages - Lafayette, La, hosted by Acadiana K-9.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Fritz’s handler and family, as well as the entire Lafayette Police Department, during this difficult time. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as we remember and honor the life of this extraordinary K-9.

Rest easy, Fritz. Your watch is complete, and your service will forever be remembered. 🐾💙

SCAM ALERT******

Tonight we have received calls from owners with missing pets under the impression their animals have been found, are currently under care and asking for money to start emergency treatment.

This is a SCAM

It's awful, and disgusting.

They pull info from the missing pet posters. They will know what your pet looks like, they pretend to work for different clinics in town and have used their websites so that they know the veterinarian and staff names.

Please be aware !!!!

They used a California number this evening
And have already changed the number
