Happy National Best Friends Day! πŸΎπŸ’œ

Not every feline friendship starts with cuddles and nose boops. When introducing a new cat to your home, slow and steady is the key to success. Giving cats time to adjust through scent swapping, separate spaces, and gradual introductions can help reduce stress and build positive associations.

With patience, your cats may become best friends someday, or at the very least, happy housemates who peacefully share the sunny spots. β˜€οΈπŸ˜ΈπŸ˜Έ

Today, on National Cancer Survivors Day, we're celebrating a very special survivor: Mila. πŸ’œ

If you look closely, you might notice a patch of white fur, a small reminder of the radiation treatments that helped her fight cancer. Today, that little patch tells a story of strength, resilience, and hope.

Cancer can affect cats just as it does people, and early detection plays an important role in successful treatment. Changes such as unexplained weight loss, lumps or bumps, decreased appetite, or changes in behavior should always be discussed with your veterinarian. Many treatment options, including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy, can help cats maintain an excellent quality of life during and after treatment. ❀️

We're thrilled to share that Mila is doing wonderfully and enjoying life as a cancer survivor. Join us in celebrating her journey and the many feline fighters who remind us every day just how strong cats can be.

Way to go, Mila! 🐾

Did you know some cats, like Brody, are born without part of their eyelid? 🐈

This rare congenital condition, called eyelid agenesis, most commonly affects the upper eyelid. Without a fully formed eyelid, the eye may be exposed to irritation, and surrounding fur can rub against the cornea, causing discomfort and potential damage over time. Fortunately, many cats with eyelid agenesis can enjoy a great quality of life with proper monitoring and medical management. πŸ±πŸ’œ

If you notice excessive tearing, squinting, or eye irritation in your cat, an eye examination is always a good idea. πŸ‘οΈβœ¨

🐾 June is Pet Preparedness Month!

When preparing an emergency kit for your cat, don't forget the essentials: several days' worth of food and water, medications, a carrier, identification, and copies of important medical records, including vaccination information.

We encourage every cat owner to have an emergency plan in place before it's needed. Taking a few simple steps now can help keep your feline family member safe and reduce stress during unexpected situations.

A little preparation today can make a big difference tomorrow. πŸ’œπŸ±

🦷 Did you know that most cats develop periodontal disease by age 3? Cats are also experts at hiding dental pain, which is why annual oral exams are so important.

We take dental health very seriously. Just like at a human dental facility, cats that receive a dental cleaning at our facility also receive full-mouth radiographs. This helps to diagnose diseases under the gum line such as abscesses and tooth resorption that may require oral surgery. Regular exams and dental care can help keep your cat healthy, comfortable, and pain-free. πŸ±πŸ’œ
