Everyone has dreams, visions of a better future, goals that seem far away, or ideas that could change their lives. But too often, people get stuck because their dreams feel too big to reach. They wait for the perfect moment, the right resources, or the ideal opportunity. The truth is, that moment rarely comes. Progress begins not with perfection, but with the courage to start, even if it’s just one small step.

Dreaming big gives your life direction. It reminds you why you’re working hard, learning, and growing. But starting small is what turns those dreams into reality. Every successful person began at zero, with uncertainty, with fear, with mistakes. What made the difference was consistency. Small efforts, repeated every day, create unstoppable momentum.

It’s easy to compare yourself to others who seem ahead, but remember: every big journey is made of many small steps. Each time you learn something new, overcome fear, or keep going when you want to quit, you move closer to your dream.

So, dream without limits, but act with patience. Don’t underestimate the power of simple beginnings. One day, when you look back, you’ll realize that what once felt impossible became real because you dared to start small and never gave up. ✨✨

When your work with a horse carries through to your students and they can feel the softness, the try, the change…

That’s the win. ✨

It’s not just about training the horse, it’s about creating something your students can step into and feel.

That’s it. 🐴🤎

Long and low isn’t something you put your horse in.

It’s something they find… when you create the space for it.

If you have to put them there, it’s probably not real yet.

Good horsemanship isn’t about doing more.
It’s about doing it better.

It’s built in the small things — the timing of a release, the feel in your hands, the way a horse responds when something is unclear.

It’s understanding.
Every horse is learning how to respond to pressure, how to handle confusion, and whether they can trust and follow the person asking.

That’s where the work is.
When something isn’t working, we don’t force it through. We slow it down, break it apart, and make it make sense.

Foundation is everything.
Not just in the beginning, but in every ride.

The big moments don’t create your horse, they reveal what you’ve built.

If something isn’t working, it’s not just the horse to look at. Look at yourself — your timing, your feel, your energy.

Horses don’t lie. They reflect.

And if you’re willing to see it, they’ll show you exactly where you need to get better.

Good horsemanship is about paying attention and taking responsibility. And doing the kind of work that creates a horse that stays with you — mentally, emotionally, and physically. Honestly.

Do it with intention.
Do it better. 🐴✨

Ready to take the next step in your horsemanship? 🐴

Not just riding more, but understanding more. Getting a better feel and timing down. Doing the small things right.

Because that’s where everything starts to change. Things start to come together instead of feeling like a fight.

This is the work we focus on.

Lessons, coaching, and training available — in person and online.

If you’ve been feeling stuck or unsure where to go next, this is your next step.

Message me to get on my schedule.
I would love to work with you. ✨♥️

“Horsemanship is the art of mastering our own movements, thoughts, emotions and behavior. Not the horses.” -Mark Rashid

And that’s the part people don’t always want to hear.

It’s easy to focus on the horse - what they’re doing, what they’re not doing, what needs fixing.

But the truth is… most of what shows up in the horse is a reflection of what we’re bringing into the moment.

Our timing.
Our tension.
Our expectations.
Our inconsistency.
Our lack of understanding.

Horses don’t need us to be perfect.
But they do need us to be honest.

We must be willing to look at ourselves first.
We must be willing to ask:
Was I clear? Was I fair? Did I prepare? Did I show up fully?

Because real horsemanship isn’t about controlling the horse.

It’s about becoming the kind of person a horse can trust, understand, and respond to.

That’s the work. ✨✨

A lot of horses don’t feel the same left to right.

And more often than not, the right side is where things start to show up.

More brace.
More reaction.
More tendency to lean, leave, or disconnect.

A big piece of that comes from how horses process the world.

They don’t experience things equally on both sides. Between how they see, how they’re handled, and natural laterality, one side often becomes more confident… while the other becomes the side where uncertainty shows up faster.

For a lot of horses, that ends up being the right side.

And I think as riders, we accidentally make that worse sometimes.

We stay on the “good” side a little longer.
We accept less on the harder side.
Or we try to push through it instead of actually organizing it.

But the right side is usually where the holes are —
straightness, body control, true softness, and mental relaxation.

So I’ve been trying to be more intentional there.

Slowing things down.
Breaking things into smaller pieces.
Making sure the feet, the body, and the mind are all with me.

Not overfacing them.
But also not letting them fall through it.

Because if a horse can stay soft, connected, and thinking on their harder side… that’s when you start getting a more honest, balanced horse.

Something I’ve been reminding myself lately —
don’t just ride the side that feels good.

Put the work into the side that needs it. 👏🏻
