We always had a sneaky suspicion that Brownie wouldn’t have too much trouble with Trick Star Level Three (Action), mostly because he had already completed it once before when he heroically stepped up in his brother Blaze’s place following an injury.

Stillness and poise have been a work in progress for Brownie, but just look at this progress.

The Footsies trick was absolutely nailed, and the photo was taken in seconds. That is a huge achievement for a dog who usually brings quite a lot of speed, enthusiasm and much loved spaniel chaos to the party.

A massive well done to Sarah and Brownie on this outstanding achievement.

Last time, I couldn’t resist editing our speedy friend crashing his way through a brick wall. This time, he deserved a bright edit for a seriously bright boy.

Congratulations Team Brownie on passing Trick Star Level Three.

Elphie was in season for her Trick Star Level Two photo session, so we made sure she still got her moment during our Level Three photo week, and just look at her.

Trick Star Level Two is all about helping our dogs confidently interact with props, and gorgeous Elphie absolutely smashed her rose hold.

The hold can be a bit of a room divider. Some dogs naturally love carrying things in their mouth, while others need a little more time and confidence to understand the game. Elphie does have some wonderful Rose spitting outtakes, I must say.

A huge well done to Elphie on completing Trick Star Level Two: Working with Props.

If you would like to join a fun, progressive trick training class with your four-legged friend, each level includes a professional photo and certificate.

Sometimes in Trick Star Level Two, our dogs are so clever we start teaching them to read. Here is Nancy, working her way through a rather impressive stack of vintage books.

As you can see, the level of concentration required for advanced canine literature is quite something. It is very much a tongue-out kind of affair.

Huge well done to Nancy, who is clearly taking her studies very seriously.

A huge congratulations to Team Ava on passing Trick Star Level Two – Working with Props.

That “head down on the books” shot, straight down the lens, was just spot on. She’s been an absolute pleasure to have in class and we are really looking forward to seeing what she will come up with in Trick Star Level Three.

Please join us in congratulating Team Ava 👏

If you love training that makes you and your dog think, our monthly Brain Games Workshops are for you.

These sessions are brilliant for focus, engagement, relationship-building, teamwork — and for turning “we can do a sit” into real working partnership. It’s trick training… but taken a step further. We’ll help you build dogs who can problem-solve, stay switched on around distractions, and enjoy learning with you.
