Canine Connection SW

Canine Connection SW Clinical Canine Massage Therapist and
Hoopers, Canine Rally, Agility Instructor

Canine Massage is a non-invasive, hands on therapy in which we treat the whole body rather than just the area of pain or injury. Canine Massage helps to rehabilitate soft tissue injuries commonly seen as lameness, limping or slowing down and helps to provide pain relief to Orthopaedic conditions like Hip Dysplasia and Arthritis. Massage can also help to reduce anxiety, improve the performance of s

porting dogs, help with post operative rehabilitation and areas of over compensation and help senior dogs to feel more comfortable. I am also an experienced Hoopers & Agility instructor with Just Dogs Southwest and am a qualified Hoopers Instructor with Canine Hoopers UK.

What Is Clinical Canine Massage?

🐾 Massage for dogs?
Yes β€” but Clinical Canine Massage is far more than relaxation.
Clinical Canine Massage is a hands-on therapy designed to help dogs experiencing:
βœ”οΈ stiffness
βœ”οΈ reduced mobility
βœ”οΈ muscular pain
βœ”οΈ compensation patterns
βœ”οΈ recovery after activity or injury
βœ”οΈ age-related discomfort

Dogs often hide discomfort incredibly well. Changes that seem like β€œjust getting older” can actually be signs of muscular tension or pain.

Some common signs include:
β€’ slowing down on walks
β€’ reluctance to jump
β€’ stiffness after rest
β€’ behavioural changes
β€’ licking certain areas
β€’ difficulty with stairs or getting into the car

Massage helps by improving circulation, reducing muscular tension, supporting movement, and helping dogs feel more comfortable in their bodies. 🐢

Every session is tailored to the individual dog and always works within their comfort level.

✨ Your dog doesn’t need to be injured to benefit β€” prevention and maintenance matter too.

The lovely Fuzz resting after a recent canine massage session, as a senior dog, regular massage sessions help to keep him active and comfortable πŸ•

How fabulous is this, Milo's mum sent me this video a few days after his latest massage session.

At nearly 15 year old Milo the Collie x enjoying fun and more enthusiastic playtimes with his little 'sisters'.

Milo is a tripaw who had his left hind amputated in 2017, within a few short months after the operation, he was back enjoying active walks and fun anysize agility runs.

Milo never ceases to amaze me how well he moves around with such balance for a larger dog, all massage sessions are tailored to the individual dogs needs, and with Milo, as he's getting a little older the sessions are targeted at helping to keep him mobile and comfortable, that's obviously working well seeing the playtime πŸ₯°πŸ•

πŸŽ„πŸΎ Thank you and Happy Christmas from Canine Connection SW! πŸΎπŸŽ„

I’d like to say a huge thank you to all my wonderful clients and dogs for another fantastic year. It’s been a pleasure working with long standing and new clients to help so many dogs feel more comfortable and mobile through our canine massage sessions.

Another great year of our agility and hoopers lessons, I love seeing the progress your all making. This year also saw the introduction of scentwork to Canine Connection SW, and it’s been brilliant to watch dogs and handlers enjoy something new in 2025.

I also take a moment to remember those who are no longer with us, both human and canine, and my thoughts are with their families at this time.

Thank you all for your continued support. Wishing you a very happy, healthy Christmas and I look forward to seeing you and your dogs in the New Year! ✨🐢

I really recommend this course, it's a hands on course with in depth knowledge on how@ to recognise and deal with common issues and emergencies. Suitable for anyone working with dogs, or if you are a dog owner. Rachel Bean
