Apologies Bingo Dog Training has taken a back seat to general family life over the past few months but I am hoping to add more content over the next few weeks.

One opportunity I really didn't want people to miss is the opportunity to join the Like a Pro Challenge

The 14 day challenge consists of:
14 days of online training video content PLUS resources (which are yours to keep forever)
Daily LIVES to really cement your learning and hear from Tom and Lauren
FREE LIVE Webinar on the July 26 (with some surprises you DON’T want to miss)
Other fun and interactive games to take part in during the challenge (get excited!)

You’re going to learn things like:
The difference between trainer types (with a deep dive into our training style – concept training)
How to get quick and easy wins for you and your dog
Geeky dives into your dog’s brain (with our very own Veterinary Behaviourist, Tom)
Body language (what it is and what it isn’t!)
Which games to play with your dogs that are fun and solve the most common behaviour struggles that you are experiencing right now.

And it’s JUST Ā£27 (of which I will donate Ā£20 to the Ukrainian crisis)

Calmness is one of the best gifts you can give your dog. This photo and video are taken in our front garden, of a dog who hasn't had a walk yet today, who's been down stairs on his own most of the morning whilst I've been working, yet is perfectly happy to lie and calmly chew his bone and ignore the background noises of children playing and doors slamming. Dogs need 12-14 hours sleep a day (more for puppies) in addition to calming enriching activities. How much rest is your dog getting?

Recall Tip 4:
The foundation of reliable recall is a good relationship with your dog. Quite simply if your dog enjoys spending time with you, they're more likely to come back when you call them!

Recall tip 3:

Make sure you practice your recall when you don't need it - if you only recall when you want them on the lead, they're likely to stop coming back

Recall tip 2:
Build your recall skills in different levels of distraction.

You wouldn't expect a learner driver to suddenly be able to confidently drive on the motorway after a couple of successful sessions in the supermarket carparks, similarly don't expect your dog to jump from coming when you call his name in the house to recalling from chasing a rabbit!

With Bing I started in the garden, then the front drive, then a quiet car park, then a quiet field etc...

Tip 1:
Know what is rewarding for your dog. Coming back to you needs to be a good deal, so if your dog isn't that into food then offering kibble is not a good deal!

Bing loves chase so sometimes I'll start running when I've recalled him so he keeps coming.
