The week that was at Pendle 🦜🐈‍⬛💙💻🐓
Some weeks we have a real mixed bag of visitors. Last week we had the pleasure of meeting;
Cookie the African Grey Parrot came in on Monday for a checkup (Dr Alex & Amanda fell in love with this little fella 🍪
Weasley and Winston, two beautiful boys who were boarding with us all week 😍
We of course turned the clinic blue on Wednesday🏈
Lovely the husky trialled for a reception job on Friday (we think she nailed it) ✅
And we rounded out our Friday afternoon with Rusty the Rooster. A very well behaved little man, who likes to travel in style 🧺
Can’t wait to see what this week brings!!

Yesterday our team (including fluffy employees) wore orange for Wear Orange Wednesday 🦺. The initiative is to help support and raise awareness for the amazing work our SES volunteers do each day. This is a cause close to our hearts at Pendle as Mel’s son has been volunteering for the SES since he was 16. We recognise and thank Koen and all the SES volunteers for their endless hard work to keep their communities safe during distasters🧡🧡 🧡

Yesterday we said farewell (or see you later) to our wonderful Dr Chelia 😭💙
For the past 3 years, Chelia has been such an integral part of the Pendle team. Known for her constant smile, love of cavoodles, expert cat wrangling skills, and incredibly compassionate nature, she has touched the lives of so many patients and their families.
No matter the situation, Chelia always went above and beyond for every patient she had the privilege of caring for, and her kindness and dedication will be deeply missed by both our team and our clients.
While we are so sad to see her go, we are beyond excited for her as she heads off to travel, explore, and begin some exciting new adventures ✈️🌍🐾
Thank you for everything Chelia, Pendle won’t be the same without you 💙

A question we get asked frequently here at the clinic..
“Why do I need to drop off my pet so early if they aren’t having their procedure until later?”
Let us explain..
🐾Every pet that comes in has a health exam prior to their procedure. This is protocol to make sure they seem fit enough for anaesthesia
🐾We place IV catheters and run pre-anaesthetic bloods (if consented to)
🐾We prep and calculate all the equipment and medication needed for each individual patient
🐾We give the pre-med and allow time for it to work

💙We believe that admitting your pet early, helps us do those necessary steps. No rushing, as stress free and thorough as possible. And of course, plenty of cuddles💙
