THE THERMOCHIP!

BUT FIRST

How sweet are these babies 💖 they all came in with mum “Hazel” to have their 6 week check up, first vaccinations and microchipping. Such adorable babies and mum was such a good mumma, keeping a close eye on her babies. These puppies had thermochip implanted. These work the same as normal microchips. The biggest difference is the thermochip provides us with an easy, non invasive alternative to stressful re**al temperature checks. This is also great if you need to monitor a pets temperature closely or for those breeds that are prone to heat stroke. If your pet needs microchipping, thermochip is another alternative we offer.

Meet the team Monday 🐾

This week we want everyone to get to know Kristen. Kristen has been at Greystanes Vet clinic for 28 years, starting out volunteering and then being employed by Ian and Rob our previous owners and is now our amazing practice manager. Kristen is a busy mum of three and as busy as she is, she is always there with a shoulder to cry on and is someone the staff can debrief with after a tough day and a truly amazing member of our team.

1. What animals do you own?
I have Monty the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, 2 cats Aurora and Maisey and a blue tongue lizard named Jack

2. What is a fun fact we should know about you?
I was an es**rt runner for the Olympic torch in 2000 for the Sydney Olympics. I really love doing puzzles and Lego.

3. What is your favourite thing?
In clinic I really enjoy speaking to clients as well as running in house blood tests and of course assisting with c-sections 💓

So a few weeks back we shared a photo of the beautiful Sally, the standard poodle who was expecting some puppies. We asked everyone to have a guess at how many pups, and we can now share with you the answer!

After a day of labouring and safely delivering 5 puppies on her own, Sally was exhausted and needed a late night intervention. Dr Anna to the rescue!!

At 11pm at night, a c-section safely delivered the last three pups bringing the total to 8.
5 healthy boys and three healthy girls all feeding off mum and doing amazingly well.

They were back home at 2am for rest and ongoing care from Sally's amazing fur parents!

We can’t wait to see these little spuds back in 6 weeks for their first vaccinations 💖

Bringing new life into the world is something we do quite often here at Greystanes Vet. It’s always a nervous yet exciting time for all our staff, but something we do with lots of love and joy. Do you know we offer full reproductive support for you and your pet from checking hormone levels for mating to ultrasounds and X-rays to c-sections and first puppy vaccinations. Then and now!!!

A little over a year ago we had two kittens in our care that had been abandoned and were too young to go to new homes. Theo and Mei went home with some of our nurses u til they were adopted out to their furever homes.
Last week Theo and Mei came back to see us for their annual vaccinations and boy had they grown! It was so nice to see them as beautiful healthy adult cats 💖

MEET THE TEAM MONDAY 🐾
Every Monday we will introduce you to our staff, let you know a little more about the staff that are caring for your pet. First up is Nurse Holly 🌸
Nurse Holly has been a valuable member of our clinic team, Holly has been in the industry since 2021 and is one of the most organised nurses we have, she loves building trust with patients and no matter how the appointment goes, Holly aims to make the visit as smooth and stress free as we can, Holly also loves red frogs

1. What animals do you own?
I’ve got two cattle dogs named AJ and Lexi. Both dogs are full of energy and definitely keep me on my toes!

What is a fun fact we should know about you?
I’ve been riding dirt bikes since I was 4. I love things that goes fast and anything adventurous

3.What is your favourite thing?
I love working with the ”spicy” dogs, especially the ones that are aggressive or fearful, I love helping them feel safe, understood and a little bit less stressed with each visit.

We hope everyone loves getting to know our staff over the coming weeks 🐾

A Gidget update 💖 this year she makes 12 yo!

Surely everyone remembers our beautiful Gidget that had lived at the clinic for several years, very famous for her where’s Gidget photos! So here is an older photo of Gidget in her prime at the clinic, and a couple of photos of Gidget enjoying her retirement living her life with Dr Anna at home with Sheldon the dog. Gidget loves being a home body, watching life go by from the veranda, enjoying the sunshine and watching the world go by at a much slower pace🌼
