Halloween can be fun for us, but all the costumes, decorations, strange noises and unexpected visitors can be a little too spooky for our pets 🐾

If your pet is easily frightened or anxious, help them feel safe this Halloween:

🕯️ Create a quiet, comfortable space away from the front door
🔊 Keep scary noises and loud music to a minimum
🚪 Make sure doors, gates and windows are secure
🎃 Keep decorations, candles and treats safely out of reach
💛 Let your pet hide or retreat if they’re feeling overwhelmed and never force them to interact

A little preparation can help keep Halloween fright-free for your furry family members 🐶🐱

Tegan and Meadow have worked together for a couple of years now, and we’re so excited to have her joining us on this new adventure! 🥹✨

A huge dog lover through and through, Tegan is the proud dog mum to her two gorgeous fur babies, Bohdi & Kali! 🐕💕 She has a massive soft spot for big dogs and absolutely loves all the big personalities, goofy moments and endless cuddles that come with them! 😂🐾

With years of experience working with dogs, Tegan has a genuine passion for making sure every pup feels happy, safe and loved. Whether it’s running around with the energetic ones, giving out belly rubs or sneaking in a cuddle, she’s always happiest when surrounded by dogs! 🥰

Tegan can’t wait to meet all your beautiful pups, get to know their little personalities and become one of their favourite humans! 💖

This World Mental Health Day, we’re recognising the importance of looking after the people behind the pets.

It’s okay to have difficult days, ask for support and take a moment to look after yourself 🐾

🐾 HAPPY VET NURSE DAY! 🐾

There’s a lot more to being a veterinary nurse than wearing cute scrubs and holding animals. Vet nurses are the ones holding the fort behind the scenes. We monitor anaesthetics, place catheters, take bloods, run lab work, prepare medications, assist in surgery, recover patients, clean up things we probably shouldn’t have to describe, comfort nervous patients, wrangle the spicy ones, answer phones, reassure worried owners, stock shelves, clean EVERYTHING… and somehow still know exactly where everything is when everyone else is asking.

We are advocates, problem solvers, educators, shoulders to cry on, the calm voice when things get chaotic and the extra pair of hands when they’re needed most. We work alongside our vets and wider team to give every patient the best possible care, and while so much of what we do happens behind the scenes, our role is anything but small.

But there’s also the part that doesn’t make it onto a job description. We remember our patients, their personalities, their little quirks and their stories. We say hello to the pet before their owner without even realising it. We remember the puppy we met for their first vaccination who is suddenly a fully grown dog, celebrate when our sick patients turn a corner and hold them close when they’re scared. We laugh, we cry, we celebrate the wins and sometimes hold their paws through their very last moments. Because veterinary nursing isn’t just about caring for animals; it’s about advocating for them, protecting them and giving them a voice when they don’t have one. It takes knowledge, skill, resilience, compassion and an enormous amount of heart. ❤️

To our incredible nursing team and veterinary nurses everywhere, thank you for the early mornings, late nights, difficult days, laughs, tears and all the little moments in between. Thank you for caring so deeply and putting your whole heart into a job that asks so much of you. You are skilled, you are valued, you are essential, and you make a difference every single day. 🐾💚 We are so proud of our nurses and everything they bring to our team. Happy Vet Nurse Day! 🩺

HAPPY VETERINARY NURSE DAY! 🐾💙

Today we’re celebrating the incredible veterinary nurses who are the heart of our clinic.

From comforting nervous patients and caring for hospitalised pets, to assisting with surgery, supporting our vets and reassuring pet parents - our nurses do so much, often behind the scenes 🩺

Being a vet nurse takes compassion, patience, resilience and an enormous amount of heart ❤️

To all our wonderful veterinary nurses, thank you for the care, dedication and love you give to every patient, every day. We couldn’t do it without you! 🐶🐱🐾

🐾 We really do see it all here at the clinic! 🐾

From dogs and cats to wildlife, reptiles and even birds, our patients come in all shapes, sizes and species! 🐶🐱🦎🦜

Dr Suzanne has a particular interest in all things feathers, so she was right at home treating beautiful Croissant, who came in with a case of bumblefoot. 🐔💕

After carefully cleaning the affected foot and removing as much of the dry scab as possible, Dr Suzanne flushed the area thoroughly and applied a protective dressing.

But the fun part came next… 👀

To help protect Croissant’s foot and take some pressure off while it healed, Dr Suzanne hand-crafted her a little “cast” out of a piece of pool noodle! A little trimming, a little bandaging and voilà, one custom made Croissant-sized cast! 🥐

Croissant headed home with antibiotics and pain relief to help her recover. Sometimes veterinary medicine requires fancy equipment… and other times you just need a pool noodle.
