We are excited to introduce Dr Shirley, who will be joining us as a locum veterinarian for the next six months working every Wednesday and Friday!

Dr Shirley brings fantastic expertise, a warm heart, and a huge love for animals—both at work and at home! Outside the clinic, she's a proud pet parent to a Japanese Spitz and a domestic cat, so she knows firsthand just how much our four-legged family members mean to us. 🐶❤️🐱

Whether you're visiting for a routine check-up, surgical procedure, or general care over the coming months, Dr Shirley is here to ensure your pets receive the very best care (and plenty of cuddles!).

Happy Senior Pet Awareness Month! 🐾✨

This month, we were honored to welcome two incredible senior patients: Misha, a wise 18-year-old kitty, and Coco, a sweet 10-year-old pup! Both dropped by for their routine check-ups and arthritis injections to keep them comfortable, mobile, and feeling their best. 🐱🐶

Our pets are experts at hiding discomfort, but aging and joint stiffness can creep up slowly. Here are a few subtle signs of arthritis to watch for:

🔹 For Dogs (like Coco):

Stiffness when standing up, especially in the morning

Hesitancy to climb stairs or jump into the car

Slowing down on routine walks

Licking or chewing at stiff joints

🔹 For Cats (like Misha):

Hesitating or taking smaller steps before jumping up

Changes in grooming habits (matted fur or over-grooming)

Sleeping or resting more than usual

Missing the litter box due to high edges

Gorgeous Reggie came in for a dental clean and polish last month, and she popped back in this week just to show off her brilliant, healthy pearly whites! 😍

Did you know that over 80% of dogs and cats over the age of three show signs of dental disease? It's incredibly common, but often goes unnoticed because our pets are experts at hiding discomfort.

🚩 Signs of Dental Disease to Watch For:
Bad breath (halitosis) — often the very first sign!
Yellow or brown buildup (tartar) on the teeth.
Red, swollen, or bleeding gums (gingivitis).
Difficulty chewing, dropping food, or favouring one side of the mouth.
Pawn at the mouth or rubbing their face against furniture.
Loss of interest in hard food or favourite chews.
