🔥🐾 Hot Pavement Can Burn Paws! 🐾🔥

As temperatures rise in South Florida, don't forget that sidewalks, asphalt, and pavement can become much hotter than the air temperature. ☀️🌡️

If the pavement is too hot for the back of your hand for 7 seconds, it's too hot for your pet's paws. 🐶🐱

⚠️ Signs of burned paw pads may include:
• Limping
• Excessive licking of the feet
• Redness or discoloration
• Blisters or peeling paw pads

🐾 Protect your pet this summer:
✔️ Walk early in the morning or later in the evening
✔️ Stay on grass whenever possible
✔️ Consider protective booties for longer outings
✔️ Always bring water during walks

A fun summer walk can quickly become painful if paws aren't protected. Let's keep those paws safe and comfortable all season long! 💛🐾

🐾💕 Sweet Ruby 💕🐾

Ruby was feeling a little nervous while waiting for her diagnostic testing, and honestly, who could blame her? 🥺🐶

Thankfully, with plenty of love, cuddles, and reassurance from Dr.Skinner and the whole team at Happy Tails, she settled in very quickly and was soon feeling much more comfortable. 💛✨

One of our favorite parts of veterinary medicine is helping anxious pets feel safe and cared for during their visit. A little extra attention can go a long way! 🐾

🐾💙 Salty Update! 💙🐾

We were so happy to see Salty back for his suture removal following his obstruction surgery! ✨🐶

Salty found himself in a scary situation after eating hair ties(26 to be exact😮), which caused an intestinal obstruction and required surgery to remove them. Thankfully, he has been recovering beautifully and was perfect during his visit with us. 💛

Hair ties, socks, toys, and other household items can be tempting for curious pets, but they can quickly become serious emergencies if swallowed. Always keep these items out of reach whenever possible.

We're so proud of how well Salty has done and are thrilled to see him feeling so much better! Please help us wish him continued health and happiness. 🐾💕

🐾🐱 Welcome to Happy Tails, Hades & Hercules! 🐱🐾

These adorable brothers visited us today for their very first kitten appointment, and we are already in love! 💛✨

Hades kept us entertained with his curiosity and larger-than-life personality. He wanted to explore everything and make sure he didn't miss a thing! 😸

Hercules took a more laid-back approach and was a little more reserved, taking it all in at his own pace. 🥰

Even though their personalities are different, they're both absolutely precious and we can't wait to watch them grow. Thank you for trusting us with their care and welcome to the Happy Tails family! 🐾💕

Hurricane season officially begins today , and now is the perfect time to make sure your furry family members are included in your emergency plans. 💛

🐶🐱 Hurricane Preparedness Tips for Pet Owners:

✔️ Make sure your pet's ID tags are current
✔️ Verify your pet's microchip information is up to date
✔️ Keep at least 7–14 days of food and medications on hand
✔️ Have a leash, carrier, bowls, and vaccination records readily available
✔️ Know which shelters and hotels in your evacuation area are pet-friendly
✔️ Keep recent photos of your pets in case they become separated

Remember, if a storm is not safe for you, it's not safe for your pets either. Never leave pets behind during an evacuation. ❤️

A little preparation today can make a big difference tomorrow. Stay safe this hurricane season! 🌀🐾

Echo is officially 8 weeks post-op from her CCL repair surgery and she is doing absolutely fabulous!! ✨🐶

Seeing her back on her feet, happy, and recovering so well has made us so excited for her and her family. Recovery takes time, patience, and lots of love — and Echo has been such a great patient through it all. 💕
