Our Pet of the Week is Kylo! He is the most adorable 13 week old Huskey mix puppy, and visited us today to recieve his puppy booster vaccines and a nail trim. He recieved some yummy peanut butter and all the snuggles in compensation! We can't wait to see you in a few weeks for your final puppy shots!

Crystal is a Veterinary Tech at Saguaro Sunset Veterinary Clinic with a passion for her role, loving the challenge and discipline that comes with being a vet tech and enjoying the connections she is able to build with patients and their owners.

Staff Spotlight! This week, meet Jeannie!

Jeannie is in the veterinary field because of her strong compassion for animals and has an interest in the medical side of care. She has a springer spaniel named Norville and a chihuahua mix named Chia. She loves her job because of she get to be hands on with pets, utilize her skills, like drawing blood, and patient care while making a difference in the owner's and companions' lives. She also loves working with her awesome coworkers! Outside of the clinic, she loves to go hiking, reading, and floral landscape painting.

Important notice for dog owners! 🚨 We've received an increased number of reports in recent weeks of sick or disoriented coyotes within residential neighborhoods, parks and green spaces.

Laboratory testing confirmed the diagnosis of canine distemper, a highly contagious and often fatal viral disease that affects the respiratory, gastrointestinal and nervous systems of both domestic and wild animals, primarily canids.

So how can you protect your pets?

🐕 Keep pets up-to-date on vaccinations
🐕 Avoid feeding or handling wildlife
🐕 Supervise pets outdoors, especially near areas with wildlife

It is business as usual at SSVC! The bulldog, Maddie, has been coming in frequently for paw cleaning and is warming up to our staff. Pebbles, the kitten, had surgery and is recovering nicely at home! Bastet has become the clinic daredevil, jumping off cabinets and getting into staff sweets!
