We are seeing a large influx of upper respiratory illnesses, such as kennel cough, in dogs the past couple of weeks.

If your dog is coughing please make sure to keep him or her from close contact with other dogs - on walks, at parks & daycares! If your dog is feeling unwell please bring them to see the doctor as some cases can become quite severe.

It’s nearly August, and that means it’s nearly ragweed season 🫠

This is the hardest season for our allergy pets who have a hard time living in their itchy, red, irritated, infected & dry skin. We can’t stop the ragweed but we can help our pets to feel as comfortable as we can!

There are medical options available to your pet - injectable and tablet - to help calm down their itchies. Gentle baths, using baby wipes on paws/legs after walks, omega 3 supplements, etc. may also help in the alleviation of allergies.

Please contact us if you have any questions on how to help your itchy pet!

It’s nearly Canada Day!

This is one of the busiest holidays for pets to get lost as they escape the noise and fear of fireworks. Please don’t have your pets outside during these times to help avoid them slipping leashes/harnesses.

We will be closed on July 1st, but will be open for our normal hours June 30th and July 2nd.

The past few weeks many of our staff participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness for mental health, especially within the realm of veterinary medicine.

Over the past many years veterinary medicine has climbed to the top of professions with heavy mental health crises.

We must always remember to be kind & to treat others with respect. Follow the link for Not One More Vet below to learn more:

We are going through some EXTREME heat these next few days. Please ensure you and your pets aren’t outside except for early mornings and late evenings. Heat exhaustion can take effect quickly and can be very damaging.
Longer-coated and brachycephalic breeds (squishy-faced, ie. Boxers, Pugs, Frenchies, etc) cannot cool down as easily as others, so it’s imperative to keep them out of the heat as much as possible. Have plenty of fresh, cool water available as well (for you too)!
