This sweet boy was in on Monday with Dr. Welmers and Technician Alex for his dental cleaning procedure. Max was so brave! He left Nepean with bright, shiny, white teeth again! 🦷🪥
Dental cleanings can be very important to your pets oral health. During a dental procedure at Nepean, the Veterinarian will perform individual examinations of each tooth in the mouth to check for any abnormalities that may affect your pets health. Full dental x-rays are taken of each tooth as well, to visualize the health of each tooth beneath the gum line. Every tooth receives a full scaling service (both ultrasonic scaling and hand scaling) in order to remove debris and build up from both the surface of the tooth as well as under the gums. Once all the teeth have been cleaned, each tooth receives a polishing service to create a smooth surface, making it more difficult for calculus to build up on the surface again.
