Congratulations to the team behind Rathdowney Campdraft!
What an incredible weekend you put together an absolute credit to everyone involved. Thank you to all the sponsors, cattle donors, committee members and volunteers. Hosting an event is never easy, but you should all be so proud of what you achieved. Even better, funds were raised for Alex Wilson, who told me on the weekend that he’ll be home from hospital for good in just a few weeks!

We had a pretty special weekend ourselves Mi Con Acre WON the Alex Wilson Jackpot Draft! Congratulations to all the placegetters and everyone who took part. I must confess, this win means the world to Bunny and myself. What made it even more special was that my dad was there to witness Mi Con Acre break his Open status with a cracking (23/63/4) 90-point run.

For Dad to see his cool horse achieve that, and for his friends to see him too, means more to us than we could ever put into words.

Sadly, Dad was very unwell and in hospital back in September when Bunny took Mi Con Acres to Dirranbandi for just his third start where he won the Maiden Draft. He also wasn’t able to see MCA take out the Novice at Gidgeefield in November. And now, just six short months later, Mi Con Acres is officially an Open horse.

The story gets even better Uncle Don bought the slot for Bunny to ride, making it a true family affair. We feel incredibly blessed to have a family that believes in us as much as we believe in the beautiful horse, and to have this great stallion in our lives, watching what he’s achieved in such a short time.And to top it all off, this win marks Bunny’s very first Open Draft victory just him and Mi Con Acres out there doing it together. I am so proud of both

As the dust settles from our competition season, we’re now in full swing of breeding season, and it’s the perfect time to reflect on Mi Con Acre’s incredible first season of drafting.
This year, Mi Con Acre truly shone:
🏆 Dirranbandi: Won the Maiden Draft with standout scores of 87 and 89.
🐴 Westmar & Goondiwindi: Competed in the Novice Draft, showing his consistency.
🌟 Condamine & Warwick: Made it into the second round of the prestigious Canning Downs Draft.
🏆 Gidgee Field: Wrapped up the year with a fantastic weekend of drafting success winning the Novice.

We’re also celebrating a big milestone—Mi Con Acre turns 6 this week! And to top it all off, it’s been an exciting week on the breeding front, with three of Mi Con Acre’s foals born. Watching his legacy grow and imagining his progeny competing alongside him one day is truly something special.

Here’s to a fantastic season, a special birthday, and an exciting future ahead for Mi Con Acre and his line!
