🐭🧀 Rat Bait Warning🧀🐭

With an increase in rodent activity over the past few months, the team at Border Vets has seen a rise in cases of rat bait toxicity.

While some products may be marketed as “pet-safe,” it’s important to understand that no rat bait is truly safe for pets. Even small amounts can cause life-threatening illness.

If you suspect your pet may have ingested rat bait — or come into contact with a poisoned rodent — seek veterinary attention immediately. Early intervention is critical for the best outcome.

🐾 Guilty & Greedy Gaston strikes! 🐾
Gaston the cheeky dachshund couldn’t resist the Easter stash and gobbled up an entire bag of chocolate eggs!🍫

This is your friendly reminder to keep those Easter treats well out of paw’s reach!
While the choccy eggs, hot cross buns, and other festive goodies are delicious for us, they can be dangerous for our furry friends – with ingredients like chocolate, raisins, and xylitol posing serious health risks.
If your pet does sneak a naughty nibble, give us a bell on (07) 4671 3688.

The team at Border Vets are excited to introduce our newest, shiniest vet, Dr. Louis! Growing up in the heart of horse country, out at Beaudesert, he has spent plenty of time around horses and is keen to provide top-quality care for both companion and performance animals.

Whether it’s in the clinic, out in the field, or at the pub, be sure to say hello to Dr. Louis! He’s looking forward to meeting all our wonderful clients (and their animals) and being part of the local community.

🚨 PARVOVIRUS 🚨
The team at BVS have been seeing an increase in prevalence of Canine Parvovirus (commonly referred to "parvo") in the last few weeks. Parvovirus is a dangerous and highly contagious virus that primarily affects unvaccinated dogs, especially puppies under 6 months. It attacks rapidly dividing cells, primarily in the intestines, causing severe vomiting, bloody diarrhea, dehydration, and lethargy. The virus spreads easily through contaminated surfaces, faeces, and even people’s shoes or hands.

As with most things, prevention is better than cure! Give the team at BVS a call on (07) 4671 3688 to schedule your dogs next vaccination
