Are your bulls really ready for breeding season? 🐂
At QSML, we go beyond basic crush-side testing to give you the full picture of your bull's semen fertility potential.
Here's what most producers don't know: Morphology (s***m structure) is the ONLY trait proven to affect both the number of calves produced AND how quickly conception occurs.
The problem with crush-side tests? Despite the term often used on catalogues “SEMEN TESTED” when a crush side test has been performed— These crush side tests only measure motility (movement) of the s***m. A bull can have 80% motility but only 6% normal morphology (see picture)- and that bull won't get many cows pregnant.
What we do at QSML: ✓ We examine individual s***m at 1000x magnification using specialized DIC microscopes ✓ We assess the physical capacity of s***m to actually bind to the oocyte ✓ We identify bulls with >70% normal s***m - these bulls get MORE cows pregnant MORE quickly
The bottom line: More calves born earlier = heavier weights at weaning = more profit in your pocket 💰
Can you really afford NOT to test your bull's morphology before breeding season?

Malaysia opens trade back up to Australian Live Ex- hopefully Indonesia to follow next!

Australian beef exports in August have hit a three-and-a-half year high, driven mostly by rapidly deteriorating seasonal conditions forcing more cattle to market. Not since December 2019 – 44 months ago, towards the end of the continental scale drought – have monthly beef exports been this large...

Wow! Look at the prices being achieved for bulls and the recent rains looks like we are entering another great season for 2023.

Doesn't seem to matter if they have a flatback, hump, purebred or a hybrid. These prices are un-precedented. Take some of the risk out with Semen/Morphology testing prior to putting your bulls out this season so you don't miss out on calves next year.

In an unparalleled sequence during the 2022 spring bull selling season, there’s been an avalanche of new beef breed record prices set over the past week. No less than four popular terminal and straightbred breeds have set new benchmarks over the past seven days – some pushing the new mark as muc...
