Alright, alright, alright…

I figured it was probably time the woman behind all the chaos popped in to say hi. 😂🩷💙

You’ve all heard plenty from Hayley, who has been part of the Fins & Fur team for the past 6 months and has become my absolute right-hand woman.

Meanwhile, I’ve been running around like the ADHD, constantly busy, slightly unhinged creature that I am, trying to get to everyone! 😂

And even though Hayley will tell you she “doesn’t work here”…
We all know she secretly loves it here. 😉😂
She’s stuck with me now, soz!

But first… THANK YOU.🩷

Two years of Fins & Fur has brought so many connections, tears, laughs, friendships, animals, memories and absolute chaos that I’ll never forget.

I’m not going to get too sappy in this post because, let’s be honest… we can save that emotional damage for later. 😂

So, to answer a few questions:

✅ 1. This is NOT the end of Fins & Fur.

It’s a step back. A break.
This old girl is tired and her family needs her. The blood, sweat and tears aren’t over…
You just won’t get to witness my unhingedness on a daily basis anymore. 😂

✅ 2.You can try to negotiate a price for Jaden…
But you may have to outbid her husband. 😂

✅ 3. Hayley is MINE 😉
We have MANY, MANY plans, so no… you can’t have her either.

✅ 4. Marshmallow has been “temporarily” smuggled home.

We’ll just leave that one there. 👀😂

✅ 5. PLEASE don’t be sad.
Because then I get sad, and we absolutely do NOT need sad Jaden.

Jaden is VERY HAPPY.🩷

✅ 6. GOOSE IS NOT PART OF THE SALE.😂

I love him. I’m pretty sure he loves me too… although his behaviour sometimes suggests otherwise.

Fins & Fur might be shutting the shop doors, but this is absolutely NOT goodbye.

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes, lots of plans, lots of ideas and plenty more chaos to come.

So for now… thank you for two absolutely wild years. 🩷💙

And remember…

You can take the girl out of the pet shop, but you probably can’t take the crazy out of the girl. 😂

🚨 BUT WHAT ABOUT THE GROOMING?! 🚨

We can already hear you all asking 😂

With the shop front closing at the end of August, Hayley will also be closing her grooming books at the end of August so she can help Jaden pack up, sell everything that isn’t bolted down and generally close up the shop.

Which is incredibly generous of her considering she still maintains that she doesn’t work here. 🤔

BUT — this isn’t goodbye to grooming! ✂️🐶

Hayley will be taking a little break while everything gets sorted and will be looking at her options, which will most likely be either:

🏠 Finding a room/space to rent and groom from
🚐 OR taking the circus on the road and going mobile later in the year

Once she knows exactly where she’s landing and when she’s reopening her books, we’ll update everyone!

So for now, if your dog is due for a groom, GET IN BEFORE THE END OF AUGUST because after that, the clippers are being temporarily hung up while Hayley helps dismantle a business she apparently has never worked at.

Makes sense. 😂🤷‍♀️

More grooming news to come once we figure out what the heck we’re doing next. 💕🐾

🐴 GOONDIWINDI HORSE PEOPLE — FARRIER EOI! 🔨

We’re putting the feelers out to see if there’d be enough interest to get a farrier to come out to the region and make a full day of it!

He currently does Hayley’s overpriced lawnmower, who’s due in about a week or two 🐴💸 and does an absolutely stellar job — so naturally, we’d love to make it worth his while to head this way more regularly.

If your horse is due for a trim, shoes, or some hoof TLC and you’d be keen to jump on the list, contact him directly to have a chat and mention you got his details through Fins & Fur / Hayley.

The more horses we can line up, the better chance we have of making a Goondiwindi day worthwhile! 🙌

🚨 SHOP’S CLOSED! 🚨

Maybe Management finally succeeded in overthrowing the hoomans.
Maybe Chicken Nugget and Marshmallow have officially taken control.
Maybe Jaden’s been taken hostage over the unacceptable breakfast conditions.

…or maybe we’ve got a kids party. 🎉😂

Regardless of the reason:

WE’RE NOT HERE.
The doors are shut. The humans are gone. Management is unsupervised. 👀

We’ll see you all when normal programming resumes… assuming Management allows it. 🐈‍⬛🐈

🚨 Management Crisis Update #3 🚨

Despite receiving TWO breakfasts this morning, management has made a suspicious move.

The bowls have now been left out… and Goose has been invited to “help” clean them.

We don’t trust it.

This feels like a carefully orchestrated trap.

Possible outcomes:
🐕 Goose enjoys a delicious post-breakfast snack.
🐈 Management reports Goose to HR for “unauthorised bowl access.”
🐈 Goose is framed for stealing food that management definitely finished themselves.
🐈 The Cat Union gains another bargaining chip against the hoomans.

We’ve advised Goose to seek legal representation before approaching the crime scene.
