Fizz’s bar is the maternal line, that features heavily in our horses
TERESA TIVIO 1954 The first competition in which Fizzabar took part was at the Cow Palace in 1964, where, beating 22 horses in the Working Cow Horse class, he won the title of Champion. He was then also Reserve Champion in Halter in Sacramento, confirming the fact that, in addition to ability, there was also good morphology and therefore all the basics of the standard quarter horse. Fizzabar turned out to be a mare with a good temperament, extremely versatile. In 1966 she was sold at an auction for 6,300 dollars to the Canadian Chunky Woodward and in the same year she made her debut in the cutting arenas, accumulating the highest score of the National Cutting Horse Association, continuing to obtain excellent results from California to Texas, until 1973. In 1965, the mare named Cuttabar was born from the mare Teresa Tivio and Doc Bar, who later proved to be an excellent broodmare for the Arnold Dolcini Ranch. She was bred with illustrious stallions such as Colonel Freckles, Peppy San Badger and Mr Gun Smoke. In 1966 the stallion Cal Bar was born and followed in the footsteps of his sisters, starting his career in the Working Cow Horse classes and winning titles in Santa Monica and Santa Barbara in California; in 1970 he was CRCHA Hackmore Champion. In 1973 Cal Bar was brought into training by trainer Larry Reeder, the two placed fifth at the NCHA World Championships. Meanwhile at Dolcini Ranch, Teresa Tivio continued to foal champions, including Doc's Haida, AQHA Superior in Cutting, World Champion Youth Western Pleasure Horse and AQHA Champion. Doc's Haida's first son was Haidas Little Pep who won a cool $357,000 in cutting competitions. In 1970, Nu Bar, AQHA Reserve Champion Junior Cutting Horse, was born. The next son was Boon Bar, PCCHA Maturity Champion in 1977. (In the photo the mare named Fizzabar, one of the first two daughters born between the pairing of Doc Bar and Teresa Tivio)
