Huge congratulations to Jack Angwin and Currowan Music on winning the prestigious Radincon Vets Choice Award!
In only their third ride together, Jack showed impressive horsemanship, guiding Music through three days of competition in 14 hours 50 minutes of riding time. The vets praised his calm, consistent management, with Music presenting each day with beautifully low heart rates.
A well-deserved honour.

At 4 this morning, 43 riders set out into the dark at St Albans for the start of Shahzada — five days, 400km, and every challenge the mountains in the Macdonald Valley can throw at them. Headlamps and quiet determination were all that lit the way as the adventure began.
We’ll be following their progress all week here at Radincon.

🌟 Over the past few days, the Radincon team has been proud to attend the Greencross VPOCUS events.

With lectures from international experts Dr. Soren Boysen and Dr. Serge Chalhoub, it was an inspiring opportunity to support veterinary professionals as they continue to grow their skills in point-of-care ultrasound.

We were delighted to provide all the leading ultrasound equipment for the event, helping bring world-class training and hands-on learning to life.

Tom Quilty 2025 – Part 2: Risk, Reward, and a Lobster BBQ

With three completions from three attempts, I approached the 2025 Tom Quilty Gold Cup in Tasmania with the quiet confidence that comes from knowing your horse—and your own limits.

Flashback Friday!

We were so impressed with our last Radincon Vet’s Choice Award winners that we’ve decided they deserve a proper spotlight – meet 11 year old Bella Pshunov and her mum Kaylea Maher, fresh from conquering the 160km Queensland State Championship ride together last month.

These two legends started at midnight, rode through the dark, and crossed the line 1 second short of 18 hours later... still in the dark. That alone deserves a medal.

This was Bella’s very first ride out of novice status. She only began endurance riding in 2017 - but she’s clearly inherited the genes for greatness. Mum Kaylea has racked up over 15,000km in the sport since 2001, and Bella’s dad Akhmed isn’t far behind, with 10,000+km since 2007. Endurance royalty. 😀

We asked Bella to tell us a bit about the ride and her beloved horse, Solomon:

💬 “I started the ride very tired. I wanted to go back to bed. I finished the ride very tired and wanted to go back to bed! But I love being with my horse and riding on different trails. There’s so much to see and lots of time together.”

Solomon is a gentle soul who looks after Bella, and clearly did just that over 160km of tough terrain. At one point, he scored a B for gut sounds, and the vet gave Bella a tip - make sure he keeps eating. So she did. Held his feed bucket between loops, let him graze in his hackamore on track. Thoughtful, calm, careful riding. Exactly what the Vets' Choice Award celebrates.

💬 “I was most worried about my mum getting vetted out – I didn’t want to ride on my own! Her horse was a little sore after Loop 2 but we rode sensibly and finished with all A’s. I was so happy when we finished. I love my horse and he did amazing.”

Bella has her sights set on the 2026 Tom Quilty at Stirlings Crossing, where she’ll finally be old enough to chase her first buckle. No doubt in our minds – she’ll get it.

Well done Bella, Solomon, and Kaylea. What an effort!
