Gentle giant ‘Mila’ visited us for her spay procedure this week, and it looks like she made herself right at home with Thabo! At just one year old, Mila is already an impressive example of how quickly Saint Bernards grow! 🐾

Did you know? A Saint Bernard can weigh anywhere between 50 and 80 kg by the time they reach adulthood, with many already tipping the scales at 45 to 65 kg by their first birthday. Despite their enormous size, they are famous for their calm, affectionate nature and are often referred to as “gentle giants.”

Originally bred in the Swiss Alps, Saint Bernards were used by monks to locate and rescue travellers stranded in deep snow. Their incredible sense of smell and ability to navigate harsh mountain conditions made them legendary rescue dogs.

Mila was a star patient, and we’re pleased to report that she recovered beautifully from her procedure. We hope she’s enjoying plenty of rest, cuddles, and treats at home! 💚
