Happy New Year! We are kicking off 2026 with Moki, a 2-year-old Miniature Poodle with a big personality. Also known as "Moki Pokey" or "The Princess," her unique name was chosen by her human siblings who decided "Mocha" was just a bit too boring! She loves to run, jump, dig in piles of snow, chew the eyes off of her stuffed animals and spread the stuffing around the room. She loves any and all toys as long as they make noise and have eyes; her favorite treats include peanut butter, dried liver, and doggie ice cream. She's a smart girl who can even pick up all her toys at the end of the night but she does require payment in a handful of treats. She's also been known to watch TV and will bark at anything with 4 legs or anyone that's fighting. She will bring her mom her puzzle toy after she's been working on it for a while and will ask for assistance to release the remaining treats. Her best friend’s name is Gracie and the two love to run around off leash at the dog park!

Our December Pet of the Month is dedicated to this handsome guy. Meet Watson, an 11-year-old Siamese gentleman with a colorful array of nicknames, including Sir P. Watson (the P is for Peanut), Meow Meows, and 3 Boopz (a playful nod to the rapper 2 Chainz). Appropriately, he was named after Dr. John H. Watson from the Sherlock Holmes saga.
This super-smart boy is always up for a chat and a belly rub. He doesn't just know how to Sit and Stay (skills his people taught him using tuna!), but he'll also patiently wait when told, "I'll be right back" (though he reserves the right to come looking if you take too long).
Watson goes absolutely bonkers for tuna—his people can't even say the word aloud! The sound of a packet opening is his personal alarm, bringing him running from anywhere in the house.
Watson's Favorite Things:
Activities: Sunbathing, playing fetch, and having full conversations with his family.
Toys: A noisy, rattling mouse and his beloved pheasant toy.
His Best Look: When he flops over for a belly rub and looks "extra squishy."
And a Fun Fact: Watson's distinguishing nose freckle started as a tiny dot when he was just one year old!
His bond with his mom is instant and unbreakable: the first time they met at the shelter, he jumped right onto her lap, rested his chin on her forearm, and fell asleep. They've "shared" a pillow every single night since.
