Meet our newest front desk employee… Mike Wazowski! 💚🐱

Mike got his name from the Monsters, Inc. character because he only has one eye. He was found with a severe eye infection that unfortunately couldn’t be saved, so he had surgery to have the eye removed.

During that surgery, a towel clamp placed on the top of his head caused a tiny cut that later became infected. We couldn’t help but laugh because it made him look like a little Pachycephalosaurus dinosaur! 🦖 Mike had one more surgery to clean up the infection, had a drain in place for a few days, and we’re happy to say he’s healing wonderfully.

These days, Mike has been hard at work helping us up front. You might catch him lounging in the window, “answering” phones, filling prescriptions, typing up patient notes, or supervising the team. He’s convinced he never gets enough attention, so if you’re stopping by the clinic, be sure to say hello and give him some well-deserved love! ❤️

A friendly reminder to everyone: Please don't leave your pets in the car, even if the windows are cracked.

On a warm day, the temperature inside a parked vehicle can rise dangerously fast. Cracking the windows does very little to keep the car cool, and it only takes a few minutes for conditions to become life-threatening for our furry friends.

If you need to run errands, please leave your pets safely at home or make sure someone stays with them in an air-conditioned vehicle.

Let's all do our part to keep our pets safe this summer. ❤️🐾

Your vehicle can quickly reach a temperature that puts your pet at risk of serious illness or death, even on days that don't seem hot to you.

🩺 Preventive Care Special! 🩺

When your pet has our Early Detection Bloodwork performed during their annual wellness exam, you'll receive FREE X-rays! 🎉

Our Early Detection Bloodwork helps us monitor your pet's overall health before they show signs of illness. It includes:
🐾 Complete Blood Count (CBC) – evaluates red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets
🐾 Chemistry Panel – checks liver, kidney, and thyroid function
🐾 Heartworm Test
🐾 F***l Exam – screens for intestinal parasites
🐾 Urinalysis

We recommend checking bloodwork every year, or at least every other year if annual testing isn't possible. Routine screening can help detect changes early, often before your pet appears sick, giving us the best opportunity to keep them healthy.

As an added bonus, we're including FREE X-rays with this wellness bloodwork package. X-rays provide another layer of peace of mind. In the past, while we may take them looking for one concern, we've often discovered unrelated issues that were important to catch early. Sometimes it's the unexpected findings that make all the difference.

📅 This offer is available only with our Early Detection Bloodwork performed during your pet's annual wellness visit. Sick appointments do not apply.

Call us today to schedule your pet's wellness exam and take advantage of this special offer!

🎉 Celebrating 10 Amazing Years with Dr. Schaefer! 🎉

This month marks 10 years of Dr. Schaefer being part of our team, and we couldn't be more grateful for her dedication, compassion, and the exceptional care she provides to our patients. Thank you, Dr. Schaefer, for a decade of making a difference!

We also have some exciting personal news to celebrate—if you haven't heard already, Dr. Schaefer is expecting a baby! 💕 We are so happy for her and her growing family.

Dr. Schaefer will be on maternity leave from mid-September through mid-January. If you're one of her patients and have been meaning to schedule an appointment, now is a great time to get on her calendar before she begins her leave.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Schaefer on both this incredible milestone and this exciting new chapter! 🎊💙

Poor Yeti came to see us yesterday with conjunctivitis (pink eye), likely picked up at doggie daycare. Thankfully, he's on the road to recovery with treatment! 🐶❤️

This is a good reminder that if your pet isn't feeling well or is showing signs of illness—such as red eyes, coughing, sneezing, vomiting, diarrhea, or anything contagious—please keep them home and away from other dogs until they've been evaluated and are feeling better.

It helps protect not only your own pet but all of their furry friends, too. Thank you for doing your part to keep our pet community healthy! 🐾

🎆 Fourth of July Reminder for Pet Owners 🎆

Fireworks may be fun for people, but they can be stressful and frightening for many pets. If your pet has used sedatives or anti-anxiety medications in the past, now is the time to request refills and pick them up before the holiday rush.

Please don't wait until the last minute! Our team may have limited availability leading up to the holiday, and prescription requests can take time to process.

Give us a call if you think your pet may need medication to help them stay calm and comfortable during the Fourth of July festivities.

Let's work together to keep your furry family members safe, secure, and stress-free this holiday! 🐾❤️
