Lepto is a serious bacterial disease that can be found in water, soil, and the urine of wildlife. And it doesn't just affect adventurous pups. Even dogs who spend most of their time in the backyard or neighborhood can be exposed.

Summer sidewalks can become dangerously hot for pets. Before heading out for a walk, try the “5-second test”:

Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 5 seconds. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for your pet’s paws.

To help protect pets this summer:
☀ Walk during cooler morning or evening hours
☀ Stick to grass or shaded paths
☀ Bring water along
☀ Watch for limping or paw licking

Protecting mobility starts with prevention.
