🧺 🐶 Are you ready for more “Picnic and Pooches”. All month long our volunteers will be taking our adoptable dogs on a mini date away from the shelter so we can show you how they shine away from the shelter environment.

It was Alfredo’s turn yesterday for some fun away from the shelter with our volunteer Erin. (Around 1yrs old and dog friendly)

“Alfredo got a quick bath this morning before going on our adventure. He did really well having a bath, almost seemed to enjoy it. We met up with a new friend at Green Lakes. He was shy and cautious at first. When we walked by people and even strollers he would stop and check in with me to make sure it was ok to keep going . Passing other dogs, no problem! Lots of interest in ducks, but didn’t bark or pull towards them. No pulling on the leash just a lot of zigzagging. By the end of the walk, while resting in the grass he had warmed up to the idea of our new friend, and enjoyed being pet and talked nice to. He wasn’t interested in any of the toys I brought for him. Just too much excitement going on around him. He hopped right into the truck, no problem on the way back, and rode like he does it every day. Alfredo is a very nice boy.”

Our adoptable boy, Queso got some much needed time away from the shelter yesterday with our volunteer Jen.

“I took queso out today. We started the day at petco to pick out a new toy. He proudly carried his toy around the store. Then we went to green lakes. He enjoyed saying hi to everyone. He also walked right into water and loved trying to catch the minnows. Then it was off to sno top for ice cream. He did really well in the car. He is such a perfect dog.”

🧺 🐶 Are you ready for more “Picnic and Pooches”. All month long our volunteers will be taking our adoptable dogs on a mini date away from the shelter so we can show you how they shine away from the shelter environment.

Our adoptable boy, Cuse got some much needed time away from the shelter with our volunteers Sara and Jaime.

“🐾 Cuse at the Barn…..Spent a few short hours with Cuse, who is so gentle he could nap beside a butterfly—and when he was able to run with a long lead- he was so excited, his tongue wagged like a windsock in a hurricane. He adopted Jaime right away as his favorite human and he trotted between grapevines and fences like he was on a mission to water each individual plant for an unexpected drought. I learned that he wants pets on his own terms(who doesn’t). He will slide into your lap unexpectedly and the flirt pole was the only toy that he seemed to like. He will sit for treats and give you his paw - AND- rides in the car like a pro. If you’re looking for a mellow adventurer with a heart of gold and a tongue that just won’t quit, Cuse is your guy.

👑 King 👑

Our handsome, adoptable boy, King had a blast playing with our younger volunteers yesterday. King has so much to offer:

522 days. That’s how long sweet Oscar has been waiting for his happily ever after. ❤️

Our volunteers absolutely adore him, but our biggest wish is for Oscar to find a family who will love him just as much. We’ve shared countless photos and videos of him shining outside the shelter, hoping it would help him find his person—but he’s still waiting.

This 1 year old cutie is the perfect mix of playful and chill. He loves going for walks, getting lots of attention from his volunteer friends, and showing off his spotless kennel—he’s quite the tidy guy!

Queso is happiest when he’s around people, soaking up love or having a little fun. He’d be thrilled to find a forever home with someone who enjoys both playtime and quiet moments. Bonus: he wouldn’t mind having a doggy friend to share the fun with!

🧺 🐶 Are you ready for more “Picnic and Pooches”? All month long our volunteers will be taking our adoptable dogs for an outing away from the shelter so we can show everyone how they shine outside of that environment.

🐶 Declan had himself a little adventure last night! 🐾 Our volunteer, Alyssa took him to enjoy a well-deserved pup cup treat and a stroll through the park, soaking in all the sights and smells. Declan was a perfect gentleman in the car. Calm, curious, and kept checking in for pets like the sweet boy he is. 💛

🐶 Our adoptable boy, Karo is another one of our dogs who loves to catch his treats. At around 2 years old, this handsome boy can start out a little shy, but once he gets to know you, he is the sweetest!

Our adoptable boy, Steve Urkle may have a name that will make you giggle, but this boy is a big love bug. Steve is around 3-5 years young and loves to practice catching yummy treats.
