Rudy had a check-up at the vets today ( checking his levels, tumor size, breathing, etc.) Because of the thyroid cancer, wobblers disease, and neck protrusion.
At this point the tumor has grown a small amount, and Rudy has a small mass in his right chest/ shoulder area. Lungs sound great, walking is great, neck has been good :). Instead of seeing him in 3 months, we agreed to come back in 6 months. The vet said Rudy is doing amazing 😊. She asked what we are doing for him, as she knows we opted for no conventional treatment. So happy the boy is doing awesome. 😊😊

These two...Elsa is walking better. We are taking her to Rochester Monday morning for another stem cell injection ( right knee this time). Rudy is doing great 😊. Been a little "off" since Elsa hurt her legs. His sissy is his everything. But he still has no clue how sick he is.... yooray

Elsa update...let's do the good news first...her spine, hips, and leg bones look normal. A tad bit of arthritis but nothing for an 11 yr old, hooray. 😊
Now the bad, painful news. She has torn both her cruciates. Yes, you read it right....both 😞. Damn it all.
The big question is what's the best plan for her... 2 surgeries at her age and a heart murmur??? Or an alternative?
We will be looking into rehab work, and checking on more alternatives (so hard to find in CNY. It's a shame. Really).
Yep a little "drunk" from very very mild sedation...thank you Dr Carista 😊

Elsa and Rudy update...

Elsa has an appointment with our vet on Tuesday morning. The plan is to do a complete X-ray of both her back legs, hip, and lower back area. This will not show tears ( cruciate or others), it will show any bone issues ( fractures, bone cancer, etc) it will also show arthritis type things. At this point, we need to know what we're dealing with to best help Elsa ( most importantly). Elsa walked better this morning and seems more comfortable:).
Rudy's being a great little brother, but is uneasy because his sister is not feeling good ( none of us are used to her not being ready to go). Rudy has been lying right next to her. He's doing really well, although he has a little mass starting on his chest. 😞 Rudy still has no clue that he's sick. Hooray for that.

As you can see the living room has become one huge bed :)
