We at SPROUT NOLA are urban farmers dedicated to helping Greater New Orleans access fresh, affordable, and tasty food through small scale vegetable production initiatives. SPROUT NOLA has recognized the lack of access to fresh healthy food experienced by many New Orleanians and we are dedicated to addressing this issue. We will achieve this through community engagement and outreach, partnerships w

ith local food vendors and food justice organizations, hands-on training programs, and advocacy. At our core we believe in empowerment through gardening and we encourage open, honest, dynamic dialogue to address the needs of our neighborhoods. We will work alongside our neighbors to create stronger more vibrant communities by supporting garden based activities that directly enhance nutrition, support health, provide economic benefit and support community interaction.

There's more incredible art on the farm! painted a gorgeous mural on our shed and let us help😅. Saturday we had a community painting day and it couldn't have been sweeter. Land access and tenure is a big deal and community support matters! We wanted to make a space for community members to come together and talk about their plans and concerns. Folks that previously secured land through the auction will also be present to share about their experience.

NORA and auction staff will NOT be present to answer technical questions or receive feedback about the auction, but we are happy to direct you to the right person to contact for that stuff. We are holding (virtual) space for community to come together to strategize, plan, build, and support each other in the pursuit of secure land access through the NORA land auction!

And we're off!! It's our 4th annual organizational month of rest and our operations are paused July 20th-August 17th. We take this time each year to rest, reset, and come back ready for all the fall programming!

Hi, Francesca here! I’m Sprout’s Finance Manager and the newest addition to this dynamic and passionate team! With a background in nonprofit food systems work and bookkeeping for small food businesses, I now support Sprout's daily financial operations and our Fiscal Sponsorship program, helping build a strong financial foundation for the organization's work and the communities we serve.

You may recognize me from the Crescent City Farmers Market, where I spent four years as the Market Manager supporting producers, coordinating market operations, and helping to connect our community with local food each week. My work has always been rooted in sustainability and the belief that thriving local food systems create healthier communities, stronger local economies, and a more resilient future. I am thrilled to continue supporting farmers and growers in the Gulf South who make our local food system possible, now by helping steward the financial resources to sustain Sprout’s mission.
