🦇🎃 Meet Batty Bandito: The Little Bat Who Steals Hearts, Not Candy! 🐾🖤

Holy bat ears, Batman! 🦇

Have you EVER seen a more magnificent pair of ears?!

Meet Batty Bandito, a tiny gentleman whose ears are so impressive we're pretty sure he can pick up radio signals from the next parish. 😂

But behind those adorable bat wings is a little guy with a story that hasn't always been filled with treats. 💔

Batty was rescued from a large hoarding situation in Louisiana, where he was one of many dogs who never got the chance to experience the love and security they deserved.

Now safe with Take Paws, he's learning that the world doesn't have to be such a scary place. ❤️

Our little Bandito may not swoop into your arms immediately.

He's shy, cautious, and likes to take his time getting to know new people.

But give him patience, kindness, and a chance to feel safe?

You'll discover one very sweet little gentleman who LOVES a good lap cuddle. 🥹

Batty also appears to be dog friendly, making him a potential companion for another pup with proper introductions.

And his dream home?

No haunted mansion required.

No spooky castle.

Not even a bat cave. 👻

Just a patient family, a cozy place to rest, and people who will let him build confidence at his own pace.

Batty is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

He's ready to trade his spooky past for a much happier future.

Some dogs just have that something special.

And Lexi?

She's got 85 pounds of it. ❤️

This gorgeous brindle beauty has a gentle spirit, a tail that rarely takes a day off, and enough love to brighten just about anyone's day.

Lexi is calm, affectionate, and absolutely wonderful with adults.

And her household résumé?

Pretty impressive!

House trained? Check.

Crate trained? Absolutely.

Trustworthy with free roam of the house?

Lexi understood the assignment. 😂

She's also dog friendly and enjoys having canine companions.

Cats, however, are a little TOO fascinating, and she may give chase.

Apparently, Lexi has some investigative interests she'd rather pursue independently. 🐱😂

While Lexi loves her people, small children can be overwhelming, so she'd thrive in an adult home or one with older, respectful kids.

And this girl has one very important request:

ROOM TO ROAM! 🌳

Lexi may be calm and well-mannered indoors, but she still loves running, exploring, and stretching those long legs.

A large, securely fenced yard would be her dream!

She's the perfect combination of peaceful couch companion and playful outdoor adventurer.

Some puppies are born into a life of comfort.

Puddin and her siblings had to wait a little longer for theirs. ❤️

This sweet little girl was rescued alongside her mama and littermates after being found living underneath a trailer.

Not exactly the beginning any puppy deserves.

But thankfully, their story is getting a much happier chapter! 🥹

Now safe with Take Paws, Puddin is learning all about the wonderful things life has to offer.

Soft blankets.

Full bellies.

Gentle hands.

And people who love her. 💕

Puddin is a sweet, slightly shy little lady who likes to take her time getting comfortable.

She's not quite ready to march into a room and declare herself everyone's best friend.

She prefers a little patience and reassurance first. ❤️

But underneath that cautious exterior is one very lovable Little Rascal just waiting to blossom!

Her mama weighs around 40 pounds, so Puddin is expected to grow into a medium-sized girl, although her exact adult size is still a mystery.

Puddin is available for pre-adoption and will be ready to head home once she's old enough to leave her mama.

She's got a whole lifetime of growing, learning, playing, and loving ahead of her.

All she needs is someone willing to be there for it.

🐾💙 Meet Duke Doxie: 14 Years Young & Still Living His Best Life! 💙🐾

14 years old • 26 lbs • Dachshund/Beagle/Chihuahua Mix

Duke Doxie is an exquisitely low-slung little gentleman who appears to have misunderstood several fundamental principles of aging.

Specifically, the part where you're supposed to act old. 😂

Duke RUNS.

Duke PLAYS.

Duke SWIMS.

And Duke patrols the yard with an absolutely magnificent little hop in his step.

At fourteen, this gentleman may have some vision and hearing loss, but his enthusiasm for life?

Still operating at FULL CAPACITY. ❤️

He's dog friendly, kid friendly, affectionate, playful, and apparently has no intention of slowing down anytime soon.

Cats, however?

Duke has reviewed the feline population and would prefer we change the subject. 😂

And then there's Lambchop. 🐑

Lambchop is Duke's beloved stuffed animal and will be accompanying him to his forever home.

Because separating a fourteen-year-old gentleman from his emotional-support lamb would be absolutely unacceptable.

Please understand:

You are not adopting one individual.

This is a PACKAGE DEAL. 🥹❤️

Duke was deeply loved before coming to Take Paws, and he deserves to spend this next chapter being just as adored.

Not because he's fourteen.

Because he's funny, affectionate, spirited, wonderfully peculiar, and still having the time of his life.

Duke doesn't need someone to give him a good ending.

💔🎸 OZZY IS THE LAST ONE LEFT. 🎸💔

The band has officially broken up.

One by one, Ozzy's siblings found their forever families.

Their people came. Their applications were approved. They got to go home.

And Ozzy?

He's still waiting. 💔

The smallest little rockstar in the band is now the LAST one left.

And we can't understand why.

Ozzy came into rescue weighing just over four pounds. He was so tiny, with those oversized ears, the sweetest little face, and an entire lifetime ahead of him.

He's spent his days growing, playing, learning, and doing all the things puppies are supposed to do.

Except one.

Growing up with a family of his own. 🥹

Because underneath that little rockstar personality is the sweetest cuddle bug.

Ozzy doesn't need a stage.

He doesn't need an audience.

He just wants a lap to curl up in, a soft blanket to sleep on, and someone who will love him every single day.

Someone to teach him new things.

Someone to celebrate his little milestones.

Someone who will look at him and say, "You're home."

Ozzy doesn't know he's the last one left.

He doesn't know his siblings have all found their people.

He just knows that he loves being held, loves being close, and has so much affection waiting for someone special.

And that's what makes this so heartbreaking. 💔

He's not asking for anything extraordinary.

Just the same chance every one of his siblings received.

A family.

A home.

A person who chooses him.

Ozzy may have been the smallest member of the Southern Rock Stars, but his heart has always been big enough to headline the entire show.

Now the stage is empty.

The rest of the band has gone home.

And one little rockstar is still waiting for his turn. 🎸🥹❤️

🎨🐾 A BIG PAWS UP TO BRICOLAGE ACADEMY! 🐾❤️

Our hearts are so full after last weekend’s Howl-O-Ween event at Floor 13! Floor 13 NOLA

The incredibly talented students at Bricolage Academy put their hearts into creating beautiful drawings and paintings of our adoptable pups, and through their hard work and creativity, they raised an amazing $740 for Take Paws Rescue! 🎨🐶

We truly can’t thank these sweet students enough. Seeing young people use their talents to help dogs in need means more to us than they know. Every dollar raised helps us continue giving our pups the love, care, and second chances they deserve. ❤️

💕🐾 Meet Posey: Beauty, Brains & a Whole Lot of Personality! 🐾💕

1 year old • 30 lbs • Catahoula/Lab Mix

Posey appears to have been given the face of a supermodel, the brain of a tiny academic, and the personality of someone who actually did the assigned reading on how to be a good dog. 😂❤️

And honestly?

This girl understood the assignment.

She's absolutely BEAUTIFUL.

Brindle markings. Gorgeous speckles. Enormous expressive eyes. And a smile that could make just about anyone fall in love. 🥹

But Posey's real superpower?

HER BRAIN.

She's exceptionally intelligent, observant, quick to learn, and so socially aware that you might start wondering who's actually training whom.

Girl is processing at broadband speed. 😂

And her résumé gets even better!

Kids? LOVES THEM.

Dogs? FRIENDS.

Cats? ALSO FRIENDS.

Humans? Absolutely wonderful.

Posey is gentle, affectionate, playful, and beautifully socialized. She knows when it's time for fun and when it's time to settle down.

At just one year old, she's already giving gifted-program energy. 🎓

And at 30 pounds?

She's the perfect little adventure companion without requiring you to purchase a vehicle with a third row.

Posey is brains, beauty, sweetness, and just enough puppy silliness to keep life interesting.

She's not secretly a catch.

There is NOTHING secret about this situation.

Posey understood the assignment, submitted it early, and somehow got extra credit.

Now she just needs someone ready to give her the forever home she deserves. 💕🐾

🐾❤️ Meet Sergio: 24 Pounds of Pure Perfection! ❤️🐾

3 years old • 24 lbs • Boston Terrier Mix

Sergio is three years old, has never met an enemy, and may be the first Boston Terrier mix to qualify for sainthood. 😂

At just 24 pounds, this little gentleman has an absolutely unreasonable amount of love for the general public.

Dogs? WONDERFUL.

Cats? FANTASTIC.

Kids? LOVES THEM.

Complete strangers?

SERGIO WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THEY'RE AVAILABLE FOR THANKSGIVING. 🦃❤️

We've searched for a flaw.

Secret double life? Suspicious hobbies? Second family in Tampa?

NOBODY IS THIS DELIGHTFUL WITHOUT AT LEAST ONE MINOR SCANDAL.

But no.

Sergio is just spectacularly sweet, playful, cuddly, and apparently operating an affection distribution center without the appropriate permits. 😂

And his favorite place?

YOUR LAP.

Sit on the couch, and Sergio will happily join you.

Attempt to leave before he's finished cuddling?

YOUR LAP HAS BEEN ACQUIRED BY SERGIO HOLDINGS, LLC.

All appeals must be submitted in writing.

Processing time: six to eight business years. 😂

He's fun, affectionate, wonderful with dogs, cats, and kids, and has somehow packed an entire Golden Retriever's enthusiasm into 24 pounds of Boston Terrier mix.

We're not saying he's perfect.

We're saying our investigation has failed to produce evidence to the contrary.

Sergio is ready for his forever family.

Somebody please adopt this magnificent little man before he invites the entire neighborhood over for Thanksgiving.

🧛‍♂️🦇 Meet Cypress: A Louisiana Vampire Looking for His Forever Castle! 🎃🐾

2 years old • 65 lbs • Lab/Shepherd Mix

Beware! There's a vampire lurking in the Louisiana bayou…

But don't worry. This one is more interested in stealing your heart than drinking your blood. 😂❤️

Meet Count Cypress, a 65-pound creature of the night whose greatest supernatural power is making humans fall hopelessly in love.

Cypress came to Take Paws as a tiny bottle baby, back when he was less "mysterious vampire" and more "warm potato requiring round-the-clock catering."

His siblings all found their forever homes.

Cypress?

He's been waiting TWO YEARS. 💔

And frankly, we're beginning to suspect someone put a spell on his adoption applications. 🪄

Because this boy is pure magic!

He's house trained, affectionate, wonderful with respectful kids, and dog friendly with thoughtful introductions.

And his favorite haunting activity?

FOLLOWING HIS HUMANS EVERYWHERE. 👻

Cypress is a professional Velcro dog who believes personal space is a myth invented by mortals.

He also carries toys around like a tiny Cajun maw-maw carrying her purse.

They are important. They go places. No questions, please. 😂

Other dogs can join his vampire coven with proper introductions.

Cats? Too tempting to chase.

Chickens? Absolutely NOT invited to the castle.

After two years in rescue, Cypress is ready to trade his haunted past for a forever home filled with love, toys, and plenty of cuddles.

He doesn't need a spooky mansion.

Just a family who will love him for eternity. 🥹❤️
