🐾 UPDATE ON THE EMERGENCY PUP FROM TUESDAY — MEET BEAUREDOG (BEAU) 🐾

Because of you, this sweet boy now has a name — and a future.

The pup found near Banks & Baudin earlier this week is officially Beauredog, lovingly called Beau. Thanks to the incredible outpouring of support after Tuesday’s emergency post, Beau is safe, cared for, and no longer alone.

✨ Where Beau is now:
• Resting in an amazing foster home
• Clean, warm, and closely monitored
• Receiving ongoing veterinary care
• Showing the sweetest, gentlest temperament despite everything he’s endured

When Beau arrived, we knew he was severely emaciated with injured paws — but the full extent became clear after he was cleaned up. All four of his paw pads are badly infected, making every step painful. Our team believes Beau is around a year and a half old, and while he’s now eating and drinking, his recovery will take time and careful medical support.

Despite everything, Beau remains gentle, affectionate, and is trying so hard to trust the world again.

💙 Beau’s healing is happening because of you — but his journey is far from over.
Every step forward depends on continued medical care: antibiotics, bloodwork, follow-up vet visits, and the time it takes for a fragile body to truly recover.

Meet Finley

Finley is a 2.5-year-old neutered male with movie-star looks and a personality to match. He currently lives with other dogs and does great with them. He’s also friendly with people and enjoys kids, always happy to be part of whatever’s going on around him.

Finley is vocal, energetic, and full of life. He’s looking for an active family who can keep up with his enthusiasm and give him plenty of opportunities to run, play, and explore. A fenced yard would be a big plus. Finley is not a fan of cats, so a cat-free home is best.

He’s very close to being fully house-trained and just needs consistency and guidance to get there. Finley is crate trained and knows the word “crate,” heading right in when asked, which makes daily routines easy.

Simon Sez is a 2-year-old Beagle/Jack Russell mix who wins hearts the moment you meet him. He’s joyful, affectionate, and full of personality — the kind of dog who lifts the mood just by walking into the room. If there’s laughter, he’s part of it. Meet Tiny

Tiny is a 10-month-old Double Doodle (Labradoodle/Goldendoodle mix) with a big heart and an even bigger zest for life. He came to Take Paws through no fault of his own when shedding became a medical concern in his previous home. While many doodles are low-shedding, Tiny does shed and will do best in a home that’s comfortable with regular grooming and a little extra fur.

Tiny is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and settling in well with his foster family. He is currently working on puppy manners, house training, and crate training, and he’s making steady progress. Like most dogs his age and mix, Tiny is energetic, curious, and thrives with structure, exercise, and mental stimulation.

He loves people and would be happiest with an active family who enjoys playtime, outdoor adventures, and continued training. A home with a yard would be ideal. While Tiny is very affectionate, older children are recommended at this time as he continues learning polite greetings and impulse control.

Tiny is a fun-loving, affectionate young dog who will do best with adopters ready to guide him through the rest of puppyhood and help him grow into a well-mannered companion.

Meet Polly — a resilient, affectionate, and endlessly fun-loving young dog ready for her forever home.

Polly is about a year old and a delightful mix of Border Collie, Labrador Retriever, Rat Terrier, and a few surprises that make her extra special. She’s grown into the perfect medium-sized companion — big enough for adventures, just right for snuggles.
Polly’s early life wasn’t easy, but she’s turned that rough start into a joyful, loving personality. She’s social, playful, and adores other dogs. With people, she’s affectionate and eager to connect, thriving on praise, treats, and positive reinforcement.

She’s house-trained on a consistent schedule and continuing to polish her manners as any smart, young dog does. After proper exercise, Polly settles well and enjoys downtime with her humans or canine friends. Like many Border Collie mixes, she’s active, curious, and happiest when she has structure, stimulation, and companionship.

Polly would do best in a cat-free home without young children, with an adopter who understands the needs of a smart, energetic dog. A home where someone works from home, is retired, or has another playful dog would be ideal — Polly truly shines when she isn’t left alone for long stretches.

She’s spayed, fully vaccinated, and heartworm negative, and currently charming everyone she meets while staying with our friends at Camp Bow Wow in Mid-City.

Charlie is a Bully/Catahoula mix rescued from a rural shelter who now lives life with the confidence of someone who knows he beat the odds. He’s striking, easygoing, and always plotting something mildly mischievous and extremely adorable. His black-and-white coat alone could carry a TV series.

Charlie is neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. He’s smart, well-mannered, and proudly house-trained. He loves kids, enjoys other dogs, and takes his chew toys very seriously. His personality is the perfect balance of calm and playful — a low-maintenance goof with excellent comedic timing.

Her sweet mama, Endora, was found giving birth in the middle of a street and was rushed to safety by a good Samaritan and Animal Control. Thanks to quick action and a lot of care, Serena made it through a scary beginning and is now happy, healthy, and thriving.

Serena is a delightful blend of resilience and sweetness. She’s playful, cuddly, and full of puppy charm — the kind of girl who will happily explore the world and then curl up for a well-earned nap. She’s expected to grow into a wonderful medium-sized dog, perfect for both playtime and snuggles.

Meet the Love Litter — Luca Loverboy, Loveable Leo, Lovely Luna, and Lottie Lovebug

These four puppies didn’t get the gentle beginning they deserved. Luca, Leo, Luna, and Lottie were found abandoned in a box on a quiet country road in Southeast Louisiana. But despite that heartbreaking start, they are thriving — full of joy, affection, and the kind of love that reminds you how resilient puppies can be.

Each of these babies lives up to the name “Love Litter” in their own way:
• Luca, the original lover boy, is all about snuggles and soulful eye contact.
• Loveable Leo brings playful confidence and endless charm.
• Lovely Luna is sweet, curious, and quietly affectionate.
• Lottie Lovebug is gentle, cuddly, and happiest close to her people.

At around two months old, we believe they are Jack Russell Terrier mixes, possibly with a bit of Dachshund or Cattle Dog. They’re expected to grow into wonderful small-to-medium companions — perfect for both playtime and lap time.

Our promise to the Love Litter (and to you):
The rescue will provide all age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and spay/neuter surgery when they are old enough, so each puppy gets the healthiest start possible.

Meet Pippa — the popcorn-fueled starlet of your sofa

Hollywood called. Pippa declined. She already has the role of a lifetime lined up — yours.

Pippa is a 3-year-old wire-haired Rat Terrier with the face of an angel, the energy of a sitcom lead, and the confidence of someone who knows she’s both cute and clever. She’s house-trained, crate-trained (though she doesn’t really need it), and walks beautifully on a leash.

She’s playful and lively when it’s time to have fun, then perfectly content to curl up in your lap with a dramatic sigh once the day winds down. Pippa loves people, adores kids, and gets along well with other dogs — though she’s perfectly happy being the main character.

She has strong opinions about squirrels, a deep love of television (especially shows with dogs), and a surprising fondness for water. Pippa will happily binge-watch whatever you’re into and keep you company through every episode.
