Meet Zora – Your Future Best Friend
Hi there, I’m Zora, a 9 month old petite 25-pound Blue Lacy mix with a heart full of love and a journey that’s just beginning. Life hasn’t always been easy for me, but I’m blossoming into the happiest, most affectionate pup you could ever meet.
I’m still shy at first, but each day I grow more confident. I absolutely adore other dogs—they help bring out my playful, goofy puppy side! I'd love to have a doggy sibling in my forever home who can show me the ropes and be my partner in fun. I’m also cat-friendly, so I’m open to all kinds of furry friendships.
One of my foster mom’s favorite things about me is my adorable “dance pounces” when I get excited—it’s pretty cute, if I say so myself. I’m kennel trained and know that mealtime means it’s time to patiently wait in my crate. I’ve mastered pad training, and while house training is still a work in progress, I’m making strides every day.
I show my love in the sweetest ways—tiny kisses, gentle paw taps, and soft eyes full of gratitude. I may need a little time to settle in to a new home, but with patience and love, I promise to reward you with loyalty, joy, and endless cuddles.

Meet Adonis Creed: The Lover, Not the Fighter!

Hey there, world—it’s me, Adonis Creed, and despite my heavyweight name, I’m strictly in the business of love, snuggles, and zoomies. No boxing gloves needed—unless they’re stuffed with squeakers, in which case, let’s talk.

I didn’t have the best start in life, but since Take Paws scooped me up, it’s been all victories from here! Born on 4/24/24 and currently weighing in at a solid 56 lbs of pure enthusiasm, I’m the ultimate companion athlete—always ready for action, but just as happy crashing on the couch after a long day of fun.

I’m a curious guy who loves exploring, playing ball, and snuggling up in bed at night like the true champion of coziness that I am. I do best in an active home with a fenced yard where I can stretch my legs and burn off my boundless puppy energy. I can get a little too amped sometimes (think: excited golden retriever energy on espresso), so a home without small kids would be best.

I’m still working on my table manners when it comes to mealtime (I just get really excited—food is awesome, okay?), but I settle down in my crate after a bit and am quickly mastering potty training. I’ve also got all my vaccinations, I’m microchipped, neutered, and 100% ready to bring joy, adventure, and some A-list-level cuddles into your life.

🆘 FUNDRAISER GOAL: $2,500 🚨

Lazarus was found wandering the streets of New Orleans, a ghost of a dog—skin inflamed and peeling, eyes swollen shut with infection, and paws so painfully engorged he could hardly stand.

He was barely clinging to life. And yet… he wagged his tail.

That tiny gesture said it all. Somewhere inside this broken body, a will to live still burned.

His kind finder couldn’t ignore it. Though she didn’t know if he would survive, she gave him what little she could—a screened-in porch for isolation, safety, soft blankets, and a promise: “If there’s any fight left in you, I’ll fight with you.”

And Lazarus fought. So did we.

We stepped in immediately to support them: antibiotics, vaccines, medicated baths, and heartworm, flea and tick prevention. Everything he needed to survive the infections that had taken over his body. Everything he needed to begin healing from a lifetime of neglect.

And slowly, hope began to return.

The swelling is receding. His skin is calming. His eyes are open and alert. That spark in his eyes is back. He’s eating. Gaining weight. Resting peacefully for the first time in who knows how long. He leans into touch now. He seeks out comfort. He knows he’s safe and that he is no longer alone!

But Lazarus still has a long road ahead. He needs to be neutered. He needs fast-kill heartworm treatment. He needs continued veterinary care to give him a full, healthy life. We’re working hard to make that happen — but we can’t do it alone.

We need to raise $2,500 to cover Lazarus’ remaining medical expenses and to ensure we can keep saying yes to dogs like him — the ones no one else will touch, the ones who’ve suffered most, and the ones who still dare to hope.

Lazarus was thrown away like he didn’t matter. But he survived. He chose to keep going.

Now we need you to choose him, too.

Hi, I'm Pippi Puppy Longstocking!

I’m one year old, 45 lbs, sweet, and full of life. I was found as a stray and was never claimed so this nice rescue took me in and promised to find me a forever home. My days are filled with boundless energy, playful antics, and lots of cuddles. I love toys that crackle, not squeak - there's something about that sound that just gets my tail wagging! I'm a social butterfly, always happy to make new friends, whether they're dogs or kids. Car rides are my favorite and taking walks in the park are a close second, though! Get ready to be mesmerized not only by these eyes, but by her dazzling personality.

Mishka is believed to be a purebred Siberian Husky, weighing in at a perfect 35lbs and 1-1.5yrs old. She is HW negative and in great health. She will be spayed as soon as she’s done with her cycle.

If Huskies are your thing, she’s a jackpot! SUPER dog friendly (plays a mean game of tag and loves all pups), hasn’t been reactive to cats on walks, handles lovely on a leash, has no resource guarding, and is house/crate trained. She is super playful but also submissive and understands social cues from other pups. She is true to her breed and very athletic and high energy, though she settles down very nicely. She is a master cuddler! She’s so social that having another active dog in the house would make her day. She’s done awesome on brewery outings and rides great in the car. This dog is ready for her forever home!

Meet Dewey!
Dewey is was pulled from a high kill shelter in Louisiana. He is a 49lb, 2 1/2 year old, classic heeler with lots of playful energy and a love of the fetch game. He’s so fun to watch with his athleticism!

He is well behaved in the home, knows when it’s time to chill, and loves couch time.
He’s fully housebroken and great with other large dogs. We suggest no small dogs though.
He’s also good with all people including kids.
He is up to date on all vet care. He is very light Heartworm positive but has already begun his (slow kill) treatment. All he’ll need is a ProHeart shot in 6 months.

He has the typical heeler desire to herd everyone. Hey, he just wants togetherness!
He’s great on a leash but also a perfect hiking companion who will stick by your side when directed.

Sweet Zena was surrendered to a rural shelter with her three puppies, all of who were adopted before her. She ended up on the euthanization list and we knew we just had to help! Zena is gentle, funny, and playful all in one! She is six years young, about 60 lbs., and up to date on all of her vaccines. She is heart worm positive and received the ProHeart 12 vaccine in late October. We are monitoring her progress with this before we get her spayed. Zena loves to take walks, play with her toys at night, and sleep with the foster's teen daughter every night. While Zena is a laid back gal, she does bark at cats and small dogs. She is just fine with medium to large dogs, though. Zena is FABULOUS with adults and teens, but she likes a calm environment so homes with little children would not be the best fit for her. If you're looking for a gentle senior who still has a playful side, Zena's the one for you! This dog is ready for her forever home!
