Dogs don’t sweat like we do—they cool off by panting and through the pads of their feet. On hot summer days, walking on scorching pavement can actually block this cooling process and burn their pads.

💡 Tip: Test the pavement with your hand. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them!

Why running water is a feline favorite:

1. Instinctual safety: In the wild, flowing water meant fresh and clean. Domestic cats still hold onto that instinct.
2. Sensory delight: The movement, sound, and cooler temperature make running water more appealing than a still bowl.
3. No whisker stress: Narrow bowls can irritate sensitive whiskers. Running water lets cats drink without discomfort.

📈 Many cat parents find their kitties drink more and stay healthier when they have access to a fountain or faucet.
