We recently welcomed another Basil to Lovell Animal Hospital, but this Basil came with a built-in best friend! Meet Basil and Bacon, an adorable pair of Corgi siblings who completely stole our hearts during their visit. ❤️
It seems like we've been seeing more and more Corgi puppies lately, and we're not complaining one bit! With those short legs, giant ears, and big personalities packed into tiny bodies, it's easy to see why they're so popular.
🐶 Fun Corgi Facts: • Corgis were originally bred to herd cattle in Wales. • Their short stature actually helped them avoid cow kicks while working. • They are incredibly intelligent and eager to learn. • Despite their small size, they're energetic and love staying busy. • Their name comes from Welsh words that roughly translate to "dwarf dog." • Those famous ears aren't just cute, they help them stay alert while working!

We had the absolute pleasure of meeting this sweet little girl for her very first visit with us! 💚
Just look at that face! Basil is a Labrador puppy with the squishiest cheeks, the softest puppy fluff, and enough cuteness to brighten everyone's day. We are pretty sure she has already mastered the art of melting hearts with a single look. 🥹
First puppy visits are so important because they help build positive experiences, establish good health habits, and give us a chance to watch these little ones grow into happy, healthy adults. Basil was a superstar and soaked up all the love and attention from our team. ⭐

🎆 Attention Humans: The Annual Sky Boom Apocalypse is Approaching.🎆
Your pet has received the official forecast for July 4th:
🌩️ Loud booms? Check.
🌩️ Mysterious explosions? Check.
🌩️ The sky randomly catching on fire? Check.
🌩️ Impending doom? ABSOLUTELY.
While some pets couldn't care less, many are already preparing their emergency evacuation plans to the bathtub, closet, under the bed, or directly into your lap (all 80 pounds of them).
If your furry friend struggles with fireworks anxiety, please don't wait until the last minute to request calming medications. Our doctors need time to review records and approve prescriptions, and we can't guarantee same-day requests as the holiday gets closer.

Patient Spotlight: The Roberts Hounds!
Meet Peewee, Athena, and Duchess Diglett some of our favorite hounds!
These three always make sure we know they've arrived with their signature boofs and happy greetings. Their personalities are larger than life, and they never fail to bring smiles to our faces when they come to visit.
We also want to give a special shoutout to their owner, who takes exceptional care of them. It's obvious how loved these pups are, and we are grateful to be part of their healthcare journey.
Thank you for letting us care for Peewee, Athena, and Duchess. We always look forward to seeing (and hearing!) the Roberts Hounds walk through our doors. 🐶🐶🐶

Okay, so Rita may not be Dobby, but she definitely rocked her sock today and gave us all the Harry Potter feels! 💕🐾
Speaking of exciting new chapters, we have some magical news of our own...
Many of you know and love Tara as one of the smiling faces greeting you at the front desk as a CSR. We are beyond proud to share that Tara has been accepted into Penn State with a scholarship to complete her Veterinary Technician degree! 🎓🐾
While you'll still see her around the hospital, you'll also start seeing more of her behind the scenes as she continues her journey in veterinary medicine. Her dedication to our patients, clients, and team is unmatched, and we couldn't be more excited to watch her grow into this next role.
Please join us in congratulating Tara on this incredible accomplishment! We know she's going to do amazing things, and we are so lucky to have her as part of the Lovell family. ❤️

• Has been with her family since 8 weeks old

• Non-aggressive with friends and familiar pets
• Excellent watchdog ("organic home security system" 😊)

Dolly is described as a very sweet, smart girl who needs either a new home or rescue placement by the end of the month.
