This week at Bayview, we honor the heroes whose praises aren’t sung nearly often enough or loudly enough in the world of veterinary medicine, i.e., the care of your pets.
Long, long ago, in 1981 (before EVEN I was born), the veterinary nurses of North America, then known as “animal technicians” or “animal health technicians,” formed the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America. It grew out of their efforts to gain a national voice and help shape decisions affecting their profession. In 1993, October 16 through 22 became the first National Veterinary Technician Week, with the celebration continuing annually during the third week of October.
This annual event recognizes veterinary nurses/technicians for their contributions to pet healthcare. This year, we also send our appreciation to for sponsoring the weeklong celebration. And just the most sincere thanks to the many friends that have brought treats for our team. Mike, Taylor, Kristen, Dessiree, Lauren, and Vaughn, we are so grateful to have you on our team. This week, we honor the incredible work you do all year round.
We know that many of you have grown incredibly fond of the team that triages and treats your beloved pets. They have been there to comfort. To explain in detail. To provide reassurance. They support their teammates in many of the same ways (and more). Our veterinarians and our team up front rely on their support, expertise, precision, and speed.
