Animal Hospital of Fort Lauderdale

Animal Hospital of Fort Lauderdale Experience makes the difference in providing the very best veterinary care.

The Animal Hospital of Ft Lauderdale opened its doors in December 1986 with two full-time doctors. We are now occupying a 6,000 square foot state-of-the-art free-standing facility, offering you full diagnostics, internal medicine, surgery, and reproduction services. As a fully computerized hospital, we use our complete in-house lab, digital x-ray, ultrasound, and two surgery suites equipped with C

O2 laser to provide the highest quality veterinary medicine available. In keeping with our mission to provide the best possible care for your pets, we are one of only a few hospitals in South Florida to offer Stem Cell Therapy for our patients. As part of the reproduction portion of our practice, our hospital houses its own frozen semen bank and fresh/chilled/frozen shipping facility. We provide ovulation timing, artificial and surgical insemination, c-sections, and assisted whelping services.

🦷 Healthy Teeth, Happy Pets! 🐶🐱

Did you know that dental disease is one of the most common health problems in dogs and cats? Just like humans, pets need regular dental care to prevent pain, infection, and even problems with their heart, liver, and kidneys.

Why dental cleanings are important:
✨ Remove plaque and tartar buildup that can lead to gum disease
✨ Prevent tooth loss and oral pain
✨ Stop bacteria from spreading to vital organs
✨ Detect hidden issues early with dental X-rays

Dental X-rays are a game-changer! Many dental problems hide below the gum line, issues you can’t see during a routine exam. X-rays help us find cavities, infections, and bone loss before they become serious.

Benefits of professional dental care:
🐾 Fresher breath
🐾 Healthier gums and teeth
🐾 Reduced risk of serious health problems
🐾 Improved quality of life for your furry friend

Don’t wait until your pet is in pain, schedule their dental exam today and give them a smile that lasts a lifetime! 🐾

Today is National Heat Awareness Day ☀️🐾

Reminder to NEVER leave your pet in a parked car, even for a short time. Make sure your pets always have access to shade and fresh water when outside, and limit outdoor activity during peak heat, pets don’t always know when to stop.

Please remember: do NOT shave your pet. Their coat actually helps regulate body temperature.

Before walks, always do the 7-Second Asphalt Test:
Place the back of your hand on the pavement. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your pet’s paws. On a sunny 86° day, asphalt can reach up to 135°, causing burns in under a minute.

Heatstroke warning signs include: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, disorientation, vomiting/diarrhea, bright red or pale gums, and in severe cases collapse or seizures.

Stay safe and keep your pets cool this summer 💙

We loved having two special visitors join us last week for Take Your Child to Work Day!

They spent the day learning everything from front desk check-ins and finding charts to prepping patients for anesthesia and monitoring vitals. They even got to observe a surgery, helping remove a corn cob from a curious pup 🐶🌽

Moments like these remind us that it’s not just about caring for our patients today, but inspiring the next generation to do the same. 💙
