Meet Dr. Ricardo Fernandez, board-certified veterinary medical oncologist at Animal Cancer Care Clinic.

Dr. Fernandez brings advanced oncology expertise and a compassionate approach to every patient and family he works with. After earning his veterinary degree from Louisiana State University, he completed extensive specialty training across the country, including internships in New Mexico and California and advanced oncology training at the University of Wisconsin.

He is passionate about helping pets maintain the best possible quality of life while guiding families through treatment with personalized care and support.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Fernandez enjoys traveling, scuba diving, cooking, exercising, and cheering on his LSU Tigers alongside his wife, Marcia, and their three dogs, Coral, Marina, and Belinda.

Meet Dr. Evan Sones, board-certified veterinary medical oncologist at Animal Cancer Care Clinic.

Dr. Sones combines advanced oncology expertise with a compassionate, patient-focused approach to care. After completing his veterinary training at Louisiana State University, he went on to complete specialized oncology training and a Master of Science degree at Auburn University before becoming board-certified in 2012.

He is passionate about helping pets and their families feel supported through every stage of treatment while creating personalized care plans focused on comfort, quality of life, and the best possible outcomes.

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Sones enjoys Florida’s outdoor activities, visiting the Disney parks, and spending time with his two miniature dachshunds, Rigsby and Sky.
