🐶 Getting a New Puppy? Congratulations! 🎉

Bringing home a new puppy is an exciting adventure! Before your first visit with us, here are a few important things to keep in mind to help your new family member get off to a healthy start.

✅ Schedule your puppy’s first exam as soon as possible. Even if they seem healthy, a veterinarian can check for common issues, discuss vaccines, parasite prevention, nutrition, and answer all of your puppy questions.

✅ Avoid unknown dogs and public areas until your puppy has finished their vaccine series. Diseases like parvovirus can be serious and spread through contaminated environments.

✅ Bring any records you received from the breeder, shelter, or previous owner, including vaccine and deworming information.

✅ Start positive training and socialization early! Gentle exposure to new people, sounds, and experiences can help build confidence and good manners.

🐱 Hairballs may seem harmless, but frequent vomiting in cats should never be ignored. Occasional hairballs can happen, especially in long-haired cats but repeated vomiting should always be examined by a vet!

⛈️Creating a quiet, safe space with familiar blankets, toys, or calming music can help pets feel more secure. Some pets benefit from anxiety wraps, pheromone products, or veterinarian-approved medications during stressful events.

⛈️Keeping pets indoors and properly identified is also important in case they become startled and escape. A little preparation can make stressful summer nights much easier for pets and owners alike.
