German Village Veterinary Hospital is proud to be a Gold Level Cat Friendly Practice® through the Feline Veterinary Medical Association (FelineVMA)—the highest level of recognition in the program!

But what does “Gold Level” actually mean for your cat?

It means going beyond simply saying we love cats. We’ve made a commitment to build our practice around their needs. We recognize that cats have different behaviors, needs, communication styles, medical concerns, and handling preferences & our approach reflects that.

The Cat Friendly Practice® program evaluates veterinary hospitals across multiple areas of feline care, including:
🐾 How our team handles and interacts with cats
🐾 Creating a calmer, less stressful veterinary experience
🐾 Our exam rooms and hospital environment
🐾 How cats are hospitalized and cared for
🐾 Pain management & anesthesia
🐾 Dentistry & dental radiographs
🐾 Diagnostic imaging & laboratory care
🐾 Treatment and patient safety
🐾 Preventive care tailored to your cat’s life stage
🐾 Team education & ongoing feline-specific learning

A huge shout out to Dr. Cotton who has been a passionate advocate for feline medicine and has truly believed in what our practice could become for cats and their families. She took the lead in bringing this initiative to German Village Veterinary Hospital and helped our entire team embrace what it means to provide truly cat-centered care. Her commitment for both your cat and to raising the standard of care made this possible!
