🐾 Memory Monday: Remembering Gertrude "Turtle" Rosemary🐾🌈
Today, we honor the life of Gertrude Rosemary, lovingly known as Gerdy and affectionately nicknamed "Turtle."
Gerdy’s story began with a rescue from an old cabin porch, where she was found alongside her mother and fluffy siblings. What started as a chance meeting quickly became a lifelong bond. From the end of 2014 onward, Gerdy was more than a pet—she was a constant companion, a source of comfort, and a steady presence through life's most challenging moments.
Through heartbreak, loss, and uncertainty, Gerdy offered unwavering love and companionship. In return, she spent her later years surrounded by endless affection, enjoying the simple joys of life: three meals a day, sunny afternoons, and two devoted moms who adored her beyond measure.
Known as "Turtle" to her second momma, she would come running whenever a special song was sung just for her. Those melodies, shared with love, became part of the beautiful bond they cherished together.
In her final months, Turtle found happiness in the warmth of the sunshine, rolling in the grass and soaking in the world around her. On the day she was lovingly helped to rest, the sun shone brightly—a fitting farewell for a soul who brought so much light to the lives she touched.
Though there is a Gerdy-sized space in the hearts she leaves behind, it is filled with treasured memories, gratitude, and a love that will never fade.
Run free in the sunshine, sweet Turtle. You will forever be loved, forever remembered, and forever missed. ❤️🐾
