I am a licensed USCG charter captain based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I offer 4, 6, and 8 hour guide trips (see the Services tab for rates). I had Will, Kennerly, and Isaac out there this morning. Isaac, who is 9, loves to catch bass, and his parents bought him this birthday trip to try something different catching catfish. Isaac did a fantastic job battling a big blue all by himself on light tackle. Smiles all around.

Andrew Lefferts comes from the salt life of Florida. He wanted to learn what the Tennessee River can offer. We stuck to the light tackle and put in 31 cats, completing the catfish trifecta - blue, channel, and flathead catfish. No real big ones, but lots of solid fish.

Yesterday was round 2 with Robert and Greg. We split the trip fishing with light tackle in the morning and heavy tackle at night. The light tackle was off the chain with several trophy size fish coming in the boat. And then at dark, Robert smashed his personal best with a 60 lber! I’m glad I was able to show these guys just how amazing our fishery really is. These guys are all slimed up head to toe as they fly back to California.

It was a hot day, but so was the catfishing! Robert and Greg are from California and love coming out here to fish the Tennessee River. At our first setup we doubled up on a 44 and 23. At our second spot Robert caught his first ever flathead at 22 lbs. Then we drifted chicken on light tackle and put some really respectable blues in the boat, including one that went 26 lbs. We did have a monster on that eventually ran us hard in a snag. We’ll be back at it again tomorrow!

I had Bryant Wooters and his buddy Trevor Hoek out there this morning. We started up on the lake for bass and had some nice largemouth, spots, and a bonus crappie. We then pulled out and hit the river for the cats. We had a very short window and had to call it quits a little early due to the storm that came in. It was nice to have a day out there with an overcast sky.

Sam and his twin brother Phillip joined me this morning for some catfish. Sam caught his PB blue at 23 lbs! These guys kept a couple for a fish fry. It was a fun morning.

I had Steve Howell and his godson Drew out there today. The focus was on Drew as he is about to start college at Tennessee Tech. He caught his personal best catfish along with some other great quality cats.

Today was my first day back from a 2 week vacation. I was hoping the blue cats would be where I left them, but it wasn’t the case today. We had to work at it, but Micah did a fantastic job catching some blue and channel catfish.

I had Eric Opatich and his grandfather Neil out for catfish. They wanted eaters for a big fish fry this 4th of July. We loaded up my livewell to the max! We ended the trip with 32 cats.

I had Andrew Campbell and his kids out this morning. The kids really enjoyed catching catfish on light tackle. Clara caught her first one ever. Walter had a 28” TARP channel catfish. It was a fun morning!

I had Samuel Tims and his buddy Bryson out there today for catfish. They are first time guests, and I was hoping that we would get on quality and quantity. We accomplished both setting new personal bests for both of these guys. Samuel got a 31 lber and Bryson got a 32 lber. They brought home around a dozen of the smaller cats to cook up for a fish fry. Fish on!!
