I had first time guests Elier Molina and his buddy Jonny out there with me today. We put some nice quality cats in the boat. Most of ‘em were caught on light tackle, which is my favorite technique to do this time of the year.

Mark Cooper joined me for a full day of catfishing yesterday. We split the trip up into a morning and evening bite. The rain yesterday morning bumped up the current later in the day. That bump gave us a pretty good anchor bite at night. Lots of great quality, including a couple of nice flatheads. We stuck the catfish trifecta, which is always cool to see.

Steve Howell was back out there with me again. This time he brought his brother Ron. We spent the first couple of hours or so on the bass, and had some good largemouth and a bonus white bass. The catfishing, however, has seen better days. We did get a buttload of channels, but the big bites we were looking for never happened. It was still a fun trip with these guys.

Rocco Mansueto brought his son Micah and Micah’s friend JoJo out with me today. We hit the lake first thing for some bass, and had largemouth and a bonus smallmouth. After a couple of hours we pulled out and went on the river below the dam for the cats. Unfortunately, the big blue we had broke off, but we still managed to find some big channels and a couple of blues downriver.
