Stay safe over the holiday! Here are a few tips for food safety.

🎆 With fireworks, BBQs, and summer fun headed our way, it's important to keep our furry friends safe!

Here are a few things to keep in mind when grilling over the holiday weekend — and some of the most common hazards we see in our ER:

🔥 Cooked bones — can splinter and cause serious internal injuries.
🍖 Fatty scraps & meat trimmings — can lead to painful pancreatitis.
🌭 Corn cobs — a major cause of intestinal blockages.
🧅 Onions, garlic, chives (seasonings & marinades) — toxic to pets, damaging their red blood cells.
🍇 Grapes & raisins — can cause sudden kidney failure.
🍢 Skewers & foil — can puncture or block the digestive tract.
🍺 Alcohol — even small amounts can be dangerous.

✅ Keep trash secured, remind guests not to share food, and create a safe space for your pet away from the action.

Our ER team is here for you 24/7/365 if your pet needs us. Wishing you and your pets a fun and safe holiday! 💙
