Planning a holiday with your pet?⛱️

From today, 22/4/26, new EU rules apply to pet travel.

An EU pet passport issued to or held by a pet owner who lives in England, Scotland or Wales will no longer be a valid document for travelling from Great Britain to the EU.

This applies to EU pet passports issued in an EU member state or Northern Ireland, including those issued before 22/4/26.

EU pet passports may only be issued to owners whose main residence is within the European Union.

GB residents travelling to the EU with a pet dog, cat or ferret will need to obtain an Animal Health Certificate for travel from 22/4/26.

An AHC is valid for
10 days for entry into the EU
6 months onward travel within the EU
6 months for re-entry to Great Britain

Pet owners are advised to check entry requirements in the destination country before arranging travel.

Some news from us -

After many rewarding years, Jim has passed our practice into new ownership.

We are pleased to introduce Dr Steven Goodear who, together with his vet surgeon wife Claire, will now manage our practice.

Nobody panic - Jim is staying! As Head Veterinary Surgeon he will now be able to focus solely on the care of our patients and their owners 🥰

What effect will this change have?

✅ Same family-run ethos
✅ Same friendly team members
✅ Same high standards of care
✅ Same range of services available
✅ Same pricing

We have had some lovely messages from our clients after informing them of this news. Thank you for your kind words 💛

When it’s your birthday and you have to visit the vets 😢

Lovely Ernie has a special diet so we couldn’t give him edible treats but we have spoilt him with extra fuss and cuddles!🥰

Happy birthday Ernie! With love from your friends at Albany 💛
