Every day is an adventure…

If your dog is happy so are you! If, like me, you walk through your front door to be greeted by an excited to see you loving dog, you know that pets

can help lower our stress levels. But it’s not just an act to make sure they get fed! – dogs really are capable of love, as scientific research has shown. As a child, I had dogs as well as many other pets including rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, goldfish, goats, ducks, doves, geese and chickens. I’m a pawrent to a gorgeous dog, who is amazing and loved so much. Bentley the Beagle who I rescued from Beagle Welfare. Sadly, my other gorgeous dog, Dora the Labrador who I adopted when a client sadly passed away has gone over rainbow bridge. I miss her so much but know she will be with her first Mum, enjoying many more adventures in heaven. Happy Hounds Club, established in 2015, has been serving the local community by setting tails wagging in and around the Bramhall area. We are fully insured, caring professionals who have a passion for providing love and care for your four legged friend. Please contact me to discuss your requirements and arrange a personal visit to meet you and your beloved pet. I look forward to meeting you. Sarah

Bentley, my beagle, had major planned surgery yesterday ❤️‍🩹

He had three lumps removed — from his shoulder, stomach and rear leg joint — along with a biopsy taken from inside his intestine. Everything has been sent off to the lab, with results expected next week. We’re hoping so much that they’re all benign 🙏

I had no choice but to agree to the surgery, as the lump on his shoulder had grown so large it was pressing on his windpipe and affecting his breathing.

To say I was nervous yesterday is an understatement!

He came home very d***y, dressed in a surgical suit and sporting a plastic cone. I slept on the sofa with him, but halfway through the night he made his way upstairs to sleep with his favourite person, Lydia 💕

I had one eye open and one eye closed all night — it took me right back to the anxiety and exhaustion of caring for a newborn!

I’ve since bought him a long-legged striped recovery suit so he doesn’t need to wear the cone, which he really struggles to get comfortable in. The suit covers his scars and stops him nibbling at them.

Bentley is 14 and a born survivor after such an awful start in life. I’m his fifth — and last — owner. He had four homes before the age of two and was badly treated 😢 I’m so grateful I’ve been able to give him the life he truly deserves 🥰

I know he won’t be around forever 😭 but I’ve done everything I can to help him live as long and as comfortably as possible — lots of TLC, the best food, supplements and plenty of love. He’s completely spoilt rotten and absolutely deserves it

Today he’s been back to his usual self — barking, eating well and begging for treats! Dogs are incredibly resilient.

He’s doing amazingly well, and I’m so proud of my boy 🥰

We’re back at the vets on Saturday for a check-up 🤞

Paws in 🐾🐾 for a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

We know it can be tempting to share your festive favourites with your pets, but here is some food for thought before you do 👀

If you can't resist sneaking the dog a few scraps from your Christmas dinner, make sure you know what's safe for them to enjoy and what is best avoided.

And remember, what seems like a tiny portion to us can be a lot for your pet.

[Visual description: An infographic displaying the safe and unsafe parts of a Christmas dinner for your pets. Safe foods include: boiled carrot and parsnip, broccoli, boiled or steamed greens, carrot or swede mash, lean parts of white meat. Unsafe foods include: gravy, stuffing, anything containing garlic, onion or leek, bones, chocolate, mince pies, panettone and anything containing currants, raisins and sultanas. Foods that are safe in small amounts include: roast potatoes, bacon, sausage and cranberry]

Our Story

Providing care for your much loved pooch Every day is an adventure… If your dog is happy so are you! If, like me, you have ever arrived home to be greeted by an excited to see you loving pooch, you know that dogs can help lower our stress levels. But it’s not just an act to make sure they get fed – dogs really are capable of love, as scientific research at the Claremont Graduate University in California has shown. My own dogs ‘Bentley’ a rescue beagle and ‘Dora’ a black labrador love to play with all the dogs in my care. Together we really enjoy the company of the dogs I care for. I've always had animals in my life. As a child, I had dogs as well as many other pets including rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, goldfish, goats, ducks, doves, geese and chickens. After gaining invaluable experience, enjoying the companionship and outdoor life of being a professional dog walker, I launched Happy Hounds Club in June 2015. Since then, the company has expanded, taking on two other dog walkers. We are friendly, caring, experienced professionals who will provide the utmost love and care for your much loved four legged friend. Please call me to discuss your requirements and arrange a personal visit to meet you and your beloved pooch. Sarah
