My name is Liz Knights, and I started my home boarding business in 2011. Having had dogs all my life, it was a natural route to take as I knew I could put my years of experience to good use. We pride ourselves at Oaklands in offering a safe, happy and loving environment to all our doggy guests, who become part of the family for their stay. Our aim is to provide a stress free holiday for both you a

nd your dog and look forward to seeing you come back to us again. Oaklands Homeboarding for Dogs is fully licensed by South Norfolk District Council, licence number AB73 and I have recently been awarded a 5 star rating. Also I am CRB checked and have full insurance. Oaklands is set in a large, safe and secured half acre garden surrounded by beautiful meadows, with miles of lovely country walks. Our doggy visitors, have full access to our home and garden during their stay with us. We can maintain any routine that you have in place at home, including feeding times, sleeping arrangements and exercise. In order for your dog to feel at home with us, we recommend you provide bedding, food and toys. If your dog also requires a crate, we can accomodate that too. We do ask that all our guests are up to date with their vaccinations, this includes kennel cough. Please note that we do not take uncastrated males. All dogs must also be up to date with flea and worming treatments.

🐾We've had a really busy week at Oaklands with Domino, Stanley, Benny and little Belle arriving for their holidays. Our daycares as always were very pleased to catch up with each other. We've loved our outside play and field walks in the sunshine. Apparently we have a heatwave on the way so as always with high temperatures we take precautions. Walks will be early mornings and later evenings. Daytime in the shade with the paddling pool and enrichment play. Here are some lovely pictures of some of our guests

Please ensure your dogs are up to date with flea/tick treatments. The grass walkways are getting high and these pesky creatures just love our canine buddies.

Please remember to pack your dogs vaccination cards 🙏 when they visit Oaklands.

Full payment for your dogs stay is required on the day that you DROP your dog off. Thank you

💔A TRIBUTE TO SIR WILLOUGHBY 💔

Oh dear I really didn't anticipate having to do another tribute so soon after Ella. However this is simply quite heartbreaking. Nicky messaged me at the weekend to say Sir Willoughby passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack. To lose a dog in this way is devastating, not having the opportunity to say goodbye! So dear Sir Willoughby i will remember you as that gentle giant that all the dogs loved and felt comfortable being around. The first time you met Mae as a puppy you introduced yourself with a gentle nudge and she loved you straight away. We always said you were Grandfather Willoughby. You earnt your title Sir Willoughby with your elegant deportment, no one could quite strike a pose like you. But make no mistake if there was any mischief gaurenteed you'd be in the centre of it all and that was part of your lovely character.
We send our love to Dan & Nicky who are obviously devastated over the loss of their lovely boy.
Willoughby we are going to miss your visits and that humongous bed of yours and you'll certainly be remembered by us all.

🐾 I don't very often post at the weekends, but given my last post was of sadness i thought it would be nice to see some happy faces from our country side walks this weekend.Our lovely visitors this weekend are Little Miss Agnes, Beautiful Buzz, The Gent Domino and Meg who are all here on their holidays. And of course our Scrappy Doo Mae. I've had some messages regarding availability in summer months and there is some space available in July and August.🐾

💕💕 A TRIBUTE TO DEAR ELLA 💕💕

Today I have had a sad visit from Ella's mummy, my friend Sally. She has sadly had to say goodbye to sweet Ella after she became unwell. We are so very saddened to hear this news today. Over the years Ella visited us for daycare and holidays and made lots of friends here at Oaklands. Ella we will remember you for the times you made me laugh so much when I threw that ball and rather than chasing it you would chase the dogs barking your little head off and then you would turn and give me that side look with those big brown eyes of yours! And popping your lead on for a walk you could gaurentee if it was cold, wet or icey you were not getting those paws cold for anyone. We send all our love to Sally who gave Ella the best life and put Ella first right up to the end. These were both 2 lucky ladies as they have had each other for 15 years lovely years. Rest easy beautiful Ella, you'll always be remembered!💕

It's that time of year now when the grass is getting high that we need to be vigilant of the pesky flees that love to latch onto our canine buddies! 🐾It definitely feels like we've skipped a couple of months and landed in June this week. We have been very spoilt enjoying sunshine almost everyday. We've had a really busy week at Oaklands!! There has been several holiday boarders coming and going as well as our daycare doggies. We welcomed Mabel today and Ludo came for another visit. It's been lovely to enjoy the sunshine on our field walks, but apparently we have to make the most of it as the weather is going to change. Our visitors over the last few days have been Harley, Little Missy, Miss Pickle, Boss Girl Poppy, Phoebe, Saucey Cecil, Little ole Bohdi, Mr Bear, Ted Little, Ludo, Mabel, the Gent Domino and our Scrappy Doo Mae and little sister Pipsqueek Pippa.
