At Guelph Animal Hospital, we've been celebrating our amazing receptionists (ours have the title Client Care Specialist) all week! The last week is celebrated the last full week of April.

Our client care specialists are generally the first faces you see as you enter our hospital, and generally are the last point of contact after your pet care visit.

Our CCS team is essential for the flow of care in our clinic - you may not realize, but we have many calls during the day, for worried pet parents that have acutely or emergently ill patients. Our CCS team a provide calm advice, and they are masters at ensuring every pet in need will get seen promptly.

When you hear their voice as they answer the phone, you may not realize that they may have just been consoling a grieving pet family, who just said goodbye to their loved and cherished pet. They also may have been verbally attacked by an unhappy caller, who was angry at the cost of our exam. The front desk team typically bears the weight with some heavy client interactions - they are often the ones that answer many questions regarding quality of life and when to choose euthanasia for our pets.

This hardworking team is the best. They are kind, patient, calm, caring, and can multitask like nobody else can :). We love our Client Care Specialist Team - thank you for all you do!

Today is World Veterinary Day!!

It is always recognized on the last Saturday of April, & it aims to celebrate the contributions of veterinarians to the health of animals, people, & the environment.
This years' theme is "Animal Health Takes a Team'. This aims to highlight the importance of teamwork in veterinary care, acknowledging that effective veterinary services often rely on the collective efforts of a range of professionals, including veterinary technicians, researchers, clinicians, researchers, educators, & many other allied health professionals.

At Guelph Animal Hospital, we truly embrace a team approach to pet care. There are so many moving pieces daily that allow us to provide the best care & treatment for your pet. We all start the day with rounds - from front desk team to all the treatment room team & doctors - we all want to be aware of flow of our day, and identify areas where we might have to offer some colleagues additional support. We do this as we know that your time is valuable, too, and we want to try to provide you compassionate, but prompt veterinary care.

While you are in our building, there could be as many as 12 other patients that require our attention. From surgical to sick patients, from examinations, vaccines, and nail trims - we work hard to ensure we are giving our clients and patients the best in care.

Every single team member at GAH understands how our collaborative approach to veterinary medicine ensure we offer the best service to our clients.
As such, let's take the time to recognize the importance of "Animal Health Takes a Team!" We know our team is pretty great, & we're always grateful that you trust your pet in our care!!

It's another Meet The Team Monday!

Jasmine, one of our amazing Client Care Specialists, graduated from a Veterinary Office Administration program through the University of Guelph. This has allowed her to combine her love for animals with her passion for supporting others in the veterinary field. Before this, she worked as a dog walker, then a tree planter out west, gaining hands-on experience in caring for animals and being in nature.

She truly enjoys her role at GAH and feels fortunate to contribute to the well-being of pets while working alongside a very talented and supportive team. Jasmine loves getting fresh air outdoors, discovering new cafes, buying spontaneous concert tickets and spending time with friends and family. At home, she is always surrounded by her sister’s two dogs – Georgie and Ruth – who are a big part of her life.

Jasmine always greets our patients and families with a big smile - and it's always 100% heartfelt. Her calm and pleasant demeanour will quickly make you feel at ease, and she is always happy to answer any questions you have.
