Heartworm disease is a serious, but preventable, illness spread by mosquito bites 🦟❤️

Once infected, heartworm live in the heart, lungs, and blood vessels where they can cause lasting damage and serious health complications over time. Many pets may not show symptoms early on, which is why prevention and regular testing are so important.

Meet Dr. Ilana Smolkin (DVM, CVA, CVHM, CVSMT) ✨🐾

Dr. Smolkin is passionate about integrative veterinary medicine and helping pets feel their best through a personalized, whole-body approach to care. Her appointments often combine therapies such as TCVM acupuncture, laser therapy, manual therapies, herbal and supplement guidance, and even tuning forks (as demonstrated here by Geronimo and Speedy) to support healing and overall wellness 🤍

Today we’re celebrating National Bulldog Day and all the lovable personalities that come with it. From goofy zoomies to expert couch potato-ing, they steal our hearts every day! 💛

Flat-faced (brachycephalic) breeds are more prone to breathing challenges, especially in warmer weather or during exercise. Keeping them cool, maintaining a healthy weight, and staying on top of regular check-ups can make a big difference in their comfort and quality of life.
