"If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever."
Today we said our final goodbye to our clinic supervisor, our Queen Josephine. It feels like she's been here for a lifetime - but according to her patient file, Josephine first joined the team as a Highway 24 employee on March 27, 2013. She had previously been a barn cat, but needed somewhere to go as her caretakers were leaving the farm and could not take her with them. She made the transition from barn cat to indoor clinic cat *reasonably* seamlessly (though if you've been in to see us over the years, you have likely seen the signs on the doors about not letting the cats out, no matter what they tell you) ... and has spent the rest of her time here on Earth with a team full of people catering to her every wish and need. Josephine had fallen quite ill recently, and was given a terminal diagnosis, so her care team knew it was time to help her to pass with the dignity of a true Queen. As we said our goodbyes, we shared stories of our favourite moments with JoJo over the years - if you have a favourite memory of our amazing girl that you'd like to share in the comments, please do so, we'd love to hear from you!
We ask that you treat our team with a bit of extra grace as we navigate clinic life without our Queen Josephine - it will certainly take us some time to adjust, and we thank you for your patience, compassion, and understanding.
